Chapter Text
When Hyacinthus woke up he was surrounded by flowers. Even if Hya liked flowers, he was pretty sure he had never seen those before.
“Hey!!”
Hyacinthus almost jumped at the cheerful voice, which sounded… a little familiar, maybe? When he turned around, Hyacinthus saw the man who had spoken. He had wings in his hat and heels, so it didn’t take long for Hya to figure out who that was.
“Hermes. What happened for you to be here?”
“Well, darling. It’s a long story.”
“I’ve got time.”
Hermes materialized a mirror and handed it to Hyacinthus.
“See that scar on the side of your face?”
Hya looked at the mirror and immediately found the scar, right above his ear.
“It looks fatal. How did I survive that?”
“You didn’t!!”
“Excuse me, what?”
“You must remember being hit in the head with a discus, don’t you?”
Hyacinthus had to think for a moment before his mind was flooded by the memory.
“Y-yeah… I remember…”
“Well, you died! And Apollo got all depressive and turned you into a flower!!!”
Hermes picked one of the lilac flowers in the ground and handed it to Hya.
“This flower actually! It’s called a hyacinth!!”
“Alright, cool. But if I died, THEN WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE?!”
“Yeah you just kind of appeared, none of the gods know why. Also, it’s been like a few thousand years? Two thousand, I think?!”
“TWO THOUSAND??!!”
“Yep. Welcome to the modern world, Hya!!”
Hermes didn’t even give Hyacinthus a moment to think before teleporting him somewhere.
“Mortals are not supposed to enter this place, but I don’t give a shit so I’ll allow you to enter! And I downloaded the English language in your brain, no one speaks Ancient Greek anymore, bye!!”
So Hermes disappeared, leaving Hya alone in front of some kind of… village?
“Hey! Welcome to Camp Half-Blood!!”
