Summary
Two people, in a city of smog and rain, ran through its streets. One fleeing the repercussions of a heist gone wrong. The other, escaping the captors that brought her to a foreign land. Their paths intercept and the two collide in ways that feel inevitable. With the woman's captors on her tail, she seeks to bargain with the man for a way to the docks. To escape this country for good. The two part ways, thinking the chance encounter both strange and singular.
A year later, they meet once more. Except this time, the man introduces him as a Lord and the woman is a governess for the family of the lady he is courting.
