   Summary

   This short story covers the fallout from the Mephisto case in Season 4. It focuses on Max's recovery from being shot, and Oskar's disillusionment with the police force. Max is frustrated by how long it's taking to heal, while Oskar has started to question everything about his career. Underlying their unhappiness is a fear of impending war and the knowledge that life will never be the same again. Both Max and Oskar are at a fork in the road and need to make some profound changes.
