Chapter Text
“Evan, what is this?”
Buck sticks his head out of the bathroom and sees Tommy looking into the open drawer of the bedside table.
“Lube?” Buck replies while he towels his wet hair.
“Yes, I can see that. A lot of lube.”
Buck shrugs and leans against the doorframe. “You said there’s no such thing as too much lube.”
“That’s not what I meant and you know it.” Tommy picks up one of the smaller bottles and reads the label. “Guarana? In lube?”
“I haven’t tried that one yet. I just thought it sounded interesting.”
Tommy gives him a deeply amused look. “We’re not caffeinating your dick.”
“Fine,” Buck concedes with an overexaggerated sigh.
“Warming, tingling, strawberry,” Tommy mutters as he keeps looking through the drawer. “More strawberry?”
“I bought that one on the way to the beach BBQ,” Buck explains.
“Who brings lube to a BBQ?” A moment later Tommy seems to remember what happened after the BBQ, when they parked the car at a deserted strip further down the beach. “Right.”
“It never hurts to be prepared. I’m the boy scout of lube,” Buck declares with a grin, and he’s kind of proud because Tommy is clearly trying not to laugh.
“Looks more like you have a shopping problem.” Tommy starts picking up more bottles of lube to study them. “Super silky smooth. Peppermint mocha flavor, really? Aphrodizing vanilla. Cherry. Extra wet. Cooling?”
“I forgot to throw that away. I didn’t like how it felt,” Buck admits.
Tommy hums and sets the bottle aside. “And how much research have you been doing?”
“Not nearly as much as it looks like. There was a sale.”
“Sure, you came across a lube sale while you were getting the groceries, happens all the time.” Tommy holds up a bottle of coffee flavored lube. “I’m starting to sense a theme here.”
Buck hangs up the wet towel and turns off the light in the bathroom. “You like coffee, I like coffee…”
“Out of a cup!”
Buck steps closer and puts a hand on Tommy’s hip. “We should do some research and figure out which one’s your favorite.”
After a moment of silence Tommy asks: “You already have a spreadsheet, don’t you?”
“Did you know not a lot of people leave detailed product reviews on lube?” Buck counters. “We’d be doing everybody a favor by doing some thorough testing.”
“Testing, sure.” Tommy grins at him fondly before he throws another look into the open drawer. “But if you start combining the coffee lube and the pumpkin lube I’m kicking you out of bed.”
