The moment Shizuku "Deku" Midoriya was diagnosed quirkless, her life turns into a living hell. Katsuki "Kacchan" Bakugo, her once ride or die best friend, turns into her worst tormentor. She loses all her friends by the end of elementary. By Middle School, she's completely alone.
Her mother (Inko Midoriya) told Deku about stranger danger online. About stranger danger in general. But Deku was growing desperate for some sort of connection. For friends.
She turns to a shady "make friends" app where she meets an odd older teen. He never tells him her what his name is and so she calls him Tomo-san (Friend-san).
She soon learns that life can be crueler when she meets her online 'friend' in person despite her mothers wishes.
She learns his name; Shigaraki Tomura. He becomes obsessed with Deku. He manipulates her, using how touched starved she is and lonely she feels constantly against her.
One day, he crosses a boundary that unlocks the ninth gate of hell for Deku.
