Donna had Dick.
Cassie had Tim.
Lizzie, through some bizarre feats of time travel, had Jason.
Yara knew she needed a Robin of her own. She was a Wonder Girl.
And, as the best Wonder Girl (no shade to the others, she’s just being honest), it only made sense that she had the best relationship with her Robin... One that truly honoured the ways of the Amazons.
It was morning in Titan’s Tower, and she walked into Stephanie’s room holding a tray of food.
“Who wants breakfast?” she asked. “I’ve brought some for you…”
Technically, Starfire made it, but Yara was being thoughtful enough to bring it to the room, so she felt she earned partial credit.
Stephanie Brown was still lying in bed, awake but not moving. Cassandra Cain was up and sorting through Stephanie’s wardrobe, picking out her clothing so the tiered blonde wouldn’t have to make her own decision.
“I’m so sore, Yara,” Stephanie said with a groan. “How are you fine?”
“What can I say? I’m built for endurance,” Yara said, sitting down on Stephanie’s bed and putting the tray down on her chest. “It comes from my culture.”
“Brazil?” Cassandra said, confused.
“Aren’t you from Idaho?” Stephanie asked.
“Be %#^*ing serious. I’m an Amazon,” Yara declared. “Lesbian threesomes are basically my birthright.”
“I’m bi,” Stephanie said tiredly.
“So am I!” Yara replied. “Same difference. Now, do you want me to feed you or not?”
Stephanie frowned, but nodded, opening her mouth for Yara to begin to feed her some breakfast.
Cassandra turned from her work to silently stare at the pair, a smile spreading across her face.
“What?” Yara asked.
“You’re very sweet,” Cassandra observed.
“I’m just doing my job as a hero,” Yara argued, continuing to feed Stephanie. “I can’t make your girlfriend pull every muscle in her body and not help her recover.”
“You are kind. Kinder than you admit. Kinder than you know,” Cassandra said anyway, walking over and ruffling up Yara’s hair. “Love you.”
Yara grumbled, looking down at Stephanie. “Is she always like this?”
“Yup. You'd better get used to it,” Stephanie teased. “Welcome to the team, Yara.”
Yara felt her cheeks flush…
She hadn’t always wanted to be a Wonder Girl. But this? Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad.
