    You’re still in love with an android.
    He’s still the second officer of the Enterprise.

    When Data begins noticing small irregularities in his own behavior, he sends himself to the Daystrom Institute for examination. Bruce Maddox calls the changes in his code and ethical subroutines a malfunction.

    Two weeks apart give you too much time to work, study engineering, and realize you’re done letting other people define what Data is.

    Because if his programming is changing, the real question may not be what’s wrong with him.
