Summary
Stationed at the edge of the world in Eboracum, Felix—known to his family as Fili—is a Roman soldier caught between the rigid discipline of the Empire and the wild, rain-soaked forests of Britannia. His greatest danger isn't the Pictish tribes he's meant to fight; it's the secret he keeps in the dark.
A storm is gathering that even Roman steel cannot withstand. When Gandalf’s portents of war turn into a bloody ambush, Fili is forced to choose between the life he was born into and the man who would risk everything to save him.
In the aftermath of the storm, Fili must decide if he is a dead Roman or a living man, and if home is a place in Gaul—or the man holding his hand in the rain.
