Chapter Text
Today seemed normal and all. No complaints, no huge issues, hell, hardly any mild issues too. Till sat on the bed in their bedroom, scrolling on his phone peacefully with the door closed shut.
To be better, he was so relaxed that he did not notice the constant snowfall outside. Everything was perfect right now for Till.
He snapped out of his gaze at her phone and caught back in current reality. Did the room temperature just drop? Did a ghost just enter the bedroom? Is the window open? No, none of that was correct.
Whatever, he just covered himself with the blanket higher to him.
And then he heard the faint noise of footsteps out in the fall. Likely Hwani’s footsteps. He couldn’t bother checking if he was right or not.
But wait. Those footsteps were too heavy to be that loud for a child. If that was Ivan, he had to start mentally praying that it wasn’t anything that would irritate him.
He glared at the door knob, hoping it wouldn’t turn.
But then. His worst fear just came true. The door knob turned and the door swung open.
That was no Hwani, that was Ivan.
If anything about husband, a big part of him is ragebaiting and teasing. He knew this man had trouble expressing his feelings for Till before they started dating in high school, but he still had that love language on him. He half liked it and not.
But right now, he wouldn’t because this day has been wonderful to Till. Why ruin it?
He started at Ivan, wishing for things that weren’t likely going to happen. Such as… good news. Or at least that was the look of his eyes did not give at all.
Maybe he was going to say the most diabolically weird stuff ever, maybe he was just overreacting this all.
“Tilly, so, bad news,” Ivan stepped in their bedroom. Just feet before their bed where Till was still. Now sitting up to hear whatever he has to share.
Oh my gosh. Fuck this. What could have possibly gone wrong on this just wonderful day? Till almost let out a sigh but refused to.
“The furnace broke down.” You’re actually joking. Or that’s what Till thought Ivan would admit. “I’m sure we’re okay, we can cover up using blankets while we call someone,” Till suggested sadly. Nearing irritation.
“Till.” Ivan said softly. “What?” Till asked with full confusion instead. “Look out our window, it is actively snowing extremely hard outside. People say there might be mild ice on the road, but it’s enough to delay someone from coming over.” Till froze.
“Well, great, such good news,” Till muttered. “We’ll just have to wait this out I’m afraid.” He looked at the blanket he had covering him.
“Now! No fear, I have a very bright idea, and it’s coming from me!” Ivan shared with full confidence in his voice. How did he do that anyway? Soft voice to a loud voice within a span of five or so seconds.
He scowled. “Any idea coming from you is either the stupidest or smartest idea of the year, but go and give it your all, genius.” He joked.
“I say we cuddle for warmth!” Ivan brightly suggested. This time, he let out a short sigh. How come he didn’t think he was going to actually share this?
“Love, listen, that’s a great idea, and I love it, but you forgot we are raising a kid and is absolutely going to be cold as well.” He explained, stripping the blanket from his body and getting from the bed. Setting his phone on the moved blanket.
“Oh yeah, but, how about for a few minutes? No more than ten at least,” he had already walked to him and grabbed his waist. He nodded slightly and backed up, climbing back into the bed.
He joined shortly after him, on his side facing him. Smirking like he won the lottery. “If you behave, I’ll stay here longer with you. Only if you don’t misbehave though. Remember that, plus, I’m tired anyway.” Ivan moved first resting his head deep in his shoulder. Humming in pure satisfaction.
He played with his hair that had grown down to the back of his neck, soothing it. Feeling his lips against the side of his neck every time he soothes it more.
He held him closed, and felt his breathing shallow. Wow, just wow. He fell asleep. But at what cost? He glanced at the digital clock on their nightstand. It was twelve PM. He had to go feed these two, but how would he move out of his mighty grip?
He peered down at him. And regained feel at his fingertips from his slick hair again. After not moving his fingers for a good ten minutes.
He didn’t want to wake him up, but if he didn’t soon Hwani would be tracking one or both of them down to get something to eat.
“Ivan.” He whispered. Kissing his head. “Mmm, what happened?” He looked up at him. Well that was surprisingly easy, but here comes the hard part. “We got to feed Hwani.”
“How about five more minutes?” He questioned, burying his head again. “How about you help me make something quick for him?” But they had no chance to get up now.
Because of the open door, they heard light and loud footsteps coming from the hallway. “Guessing that’s Hwani.” Ivan didn’t even look up. Actually, he was practically under the covers because of how high Till pulled them up.
“Papa?” “It’s cold in my room, blankets aren’t warming me. And I’m hungry…” Till sat up and Ivan did something amazing: Let go of him so he can help tend to Hwani’s needs as well. “Hwani, sweetie, your room is cold because the furnace broke,” Till picked him up and explained as simply as possible.
“What’s a furnace?” “It’s something in a house that keeps you warm!” He answered after him. “Let’s go get you something to eat! Anything in particular?”

“Blankets won’t warm you?” Hwani nodded, fisting his light blanket in his hands. “That might be why if you’re using that light of a blanket, I’ll be back, give me a moment.” Till got off from the end of his bed and left the room to find a blanket that would be heavy enough to cover him and keep him warm.
He opened a small closet in his and Ivan’s bedroom and pulled out a blanket that would be enough for Hwani to keep him warm. A floral-patterned blanket, now heading back to Hwani’s room.
“Would this be too much of a blanket for you when you sleep? Because it’s a bit heavy but should do the trick either way.” Hwani felt the soft fabric texture of the blanket. Hesitated and nodded multiple times. “It should work fine with me!” He cheerfully said, making Till smile. “Okay, I’ll set this up, mind hopping off your bed quickly?” He did so.
He set the blanket over bed, falling onto the sides just a bit, but not much. But honestly, it fit better than he expected it to be.
“Want to test it out?” Till questioned after stepping back to see how he did.
Hwani pulled the start of the blanket enough to step in. “It feels… warm.” He smiled. He saw Till approaching and kneeling by his bed. “Then, how about you take a nap to see if it continuously makes you feel warm?” He nodded a yes and felt as Till ran his fingers through his short, black hair. Closing his eyes to the feeling.
Hwani fell asleep quickly. He must have been tired before. Who knows how long this furnace has been broken for.
He stopped kneeling, and turned toward his door and saw Ivan standing there. Nearly jumping, but for the sake of Hwani staying asleep Till put a finger to his lips as he flicked the lights and closed the door with gentleness. “My turn!” Ivan almost said too loudly close to the door. “Quiet down first, and just maybe.” He followed him into their bedroom.
Remembering to close the door properly this time. “Please?” Ivan begged somewhat. “Please!” Ivan leaned down, meeting his lips successfully.
They parted after multiple kisses. Now in bed with each other, deciding to stay together longer this time. Just until Hwani wakes up and needs something. But that would probably be in a while, so what do they have to worry about? Till thought about it for a moment, the furnace had an easy solution, but the ice on the roads and snow was going to take a long time. Hopefully not so long though.
But who knows.
Ivan fell asleep again, but this time he didn’t mind at all. In fact, he closed his eyes and fell asleep with him as well.
What a happy married couple with a kid they are.

Hwani settled into his bed, at full peace and warmth. Ready to take a nap in his warm bed. This blanket was a lot, in a good way of course! He saw how it fell over the sides of his low bed. If his bed were to be higher, maybe it would flow lower, or not flow down the sides.
But now, his eyes felt heavy, he knew this was his sign to accept rest. And so, he did. He fell into a great rest, dreaming well.

Ivan was the one who woke up first. Blinking his eyes multiple times to get them awake as well. He looked down to where Till slept. Eyes shut, head on the pillow, his finger traces his face, gently going from his jaw to his forehead.
He ruffled his grey hair, messing it more than it already was. He giggled low at seeing his work, not wanting this moment to end and waking him up in the end.
He placed his head in the crook of his neck.
He’ll just wait for him to awake. He should wake up soon enough anyway.
It was about ten minutes or so before Till woke up, taking a deep breath in and out. He smiled at the sight of Ivan at the crook of his neck, breath hitting his skin.
Ivan knew he was awake, and he smiled against his neck. “Hello to you too!” Ivan said suddenly, alerting Till immediately. He nearly let out a scream, but stopped himself. “Oh, my gosh! I-Ivan…! You scared me.” He stammered.
“Sorry,” He said upon his neck, pressing kiss to kiss on the skin. Wrapping his arms around his waist, still kissing his neck. “I know what you’re trying to do, and you’re not going to.” Till said, pulling his head slightly.
“Mhm,” was all the man said.
Really?
But, he still got up from his spot on the crook of his neck.
Both of them propped themselves up, sitting up so they wouldn’t fall asleep again.
“What time is it, though?” Till mumbled out, still tired and not wanting to get out, despite probably having to.
Ivan turned his head towards the digital clock, the time was 3:12.
“It’s 3:12, if you want to go back to sleep we can-” “Then Hwani is probably awake by now, he only naps for about an hour or two. And for your context, probably hungry.” Till explained.
“Oh, my Till,” he cooed, tracing his finger around his face and neck again, knowing it relaxed him easily. “That feels nice.” Till murmured. “I know, that’s why I am doing it, lovely!” He chuckled. “Fine, only a few more minutes though.”
Minutes skipped by, and he thought that Till was going to stay more than a few minutes. But no, this time he took his word seriously, getting out of the bed to go check on Hwani.
“Can I at least make you something?” Ivan asked before he left the room. “If that includes Hwani too, if he’s hungry, then sure.” Till passed from room by room, going to Hwani’s room to check on him.
When he turned the knob and the door opened with a swing, light flowed into the room. Revealing that he was clearly asleep. With no signs of being awake at all, just asleep. He must have been sleeping well, maybe he’ll keep that blanket in his bed. It seemed to cover him up with warmth.
“Asleep,” Till said as he closed the door. “Actually?” Ivan seemed surprised as well, “He’s napping well, I’m just really surprised he slept this long. Maybe he was really tired before, yeah, that’d probably be the case.” Till walked to the couch and sat down.
“He’ll wake up soon anyway,” Ivan sat his place next to him as well, “Are you hungry for anything?” Ivan questioned and smiled dearly at him, his snaggletooth showing.
“Not much.” Till answered, snuggling close to him. “You’re warm,” he looked up to him and pressed his lips to his cheek, his smile growing.
Then he heard a yawn come from the room where Hwani was sleeping, or well previously slept. Light flowed out of the room’s light.
“Good afternoon, Hwani, hungry for anything?” Till smiled.
“No, thank you!” He answered, smiling as well. “I was going to ask if you slept well, but you napped for about three hours so there’s that answer.” Till laughed.
“I have a question though,” Hwani said, sitting in the middle of both parents. “How did you meet each other?” Hwani asked out of pure curiosity.
Till’s face straightened, and he remembered when he first met Ivan.
“Well, it is quite the story!” He bopped his nose, ruffling his hair. “Tilly, do you want to tell him the story or should I?” Ivan met his gaze. “You can, I honestly want to know your side as well.”
“Okay! He and I were little kids when we had our first interaction, Till was a rough boy. And I teased people from a young age, and I still do today. He did lots of art, especially drawing. And wanted no one to see his drawings at all, so one day, I decided to try to get a peek at his drawings. They were drawings of Mizi, he had a crush on Mizi for a very long time, until high school,”
“When I peeked at his drawing, he saw me and got irritated. He pushed me to the ground out of anger, but honestly I couldn’t blame him as much really, I wouldn’t want someone to look at my drawings. That was however, our only bad interaction, we had separate small interactions until the first day of high school. His and I’s first day. When I walked in, I saw him sitting in the classroom around the middle sets of desks. I didn’t want to do anything with him, so I sat down in the back, where I hoped he didn’t notice me.”
“And, well, the thing is that he did see me, and we were partners for an activity we had to do. From that activity, we became great friends. Within months, he lost his crush from Mizi because she got a girlfriend, Sua,” Ivan kept going, “Sua!” Hwani said. “Yes, Sua! They were so happy together, I’m glad they’re now married. But anyway, I developed feelings for him, and he did the same. One day, I confessed my feelings, and he accepted happily. We were sweet boyfriends, and we did everything together. It was amazing, I loved every part of it. Now, today we have a good kid, and he and I are married!” He looked down to his ring.
“Woah! That’s so cool! Will that happen to me one day?” Hwani curiosity adored both of them, "One day, maybe, that’s up to you. You can date whoever you want, him and I wouldn’t mind.” Till replied. Hwani nodded and giggled, feeling hungry. “I’m hungry,” he said, “Then let’s go make you something!”
And, forever on and on they will be a family. A happy family, with continuous love for each other.
