Work Text:

“Why am I even here…?” Idia mumbled to himself. He pulled his hood further over his head as he saw people walk by.

Yeah, that’s right. Idia Shroud was out of his room, during the middle of the day, no less. Some miracles truly do happen. Why was he out in the open in broad daylight? He didn’t know himself, if they were being honest. Well, that wasn’t fully the truth. He knew he was waiting for a certain prince.

Idia had been waiting for Leona to call that day - they had to schedule another chess rematch because Leona was a sore loser who had a major skill issue. Anyways, Leona was supposed to call at twelve PM. Then twelve PM came. Then ten minutes passed. Then another ten minutes. After thirty minutes, Idia decided that the other finally realized that some uber-socially anxious tech genius gaming nerd probably wasn’t worth Leona’s precious nap time, so Idia just ended up playing one of his gacha games.

Sure it stung a bit, but what’s new? Leona was a prince, for crying out loud! And Idia-...

Well, he was just a laughing stock with mildly cursed hair and anxiety. He never worried what people would think if they found out him and Leona were hanging out because even if they found out, they would’ve never believed it.

It was whatever, anyway. It’s not like Idia sometimes spaced out while gaming because a vaguely attractive character reminded him of a vaguely attractive prince. It’s not like Leona was one of the only people Idia could breathe around (yet SMH also simultaneously take his breath away). It’s not like Idia complained when Leona took to long planning his next move in chess when really Idia didn’t mind all that much because it meant he got to stare at the others face. And it’s definitely not like Idia lost even more sleep than he already did because he couldn’t stop thinking about Leona’s stupidly smugly handsomely beautiful face.

…Whatever gave you that idea?

Apparently Leona did decide to call after all. An hour late and right in the middle of Idia’s dailies which pissed him off a bit, but he called. The prince explained that his nap ran longer than expected. Idia was ready to plan another day for chess, but noooooo. Leona insisted on meeting Idia in public, under a tree near the entrance of one of the school wings. Said it was something important/srs.

Now Idia was just wondering if this was all a top tier strategy to get him some much needed vitamin D because Leona was fifteen minutes late.

He was about to head back to Ignihyde when he heard a familiar voice talk behind him. “Oi, Radish Sprout.” Right behind him.

Idia may or may not have jumped forward a foot or so before turning around to meet him. “Leona! Don’t sneak attack me like that!”

Leona smirked his infuriating little smirk. Leona was handsome in a way no man should be. What did that mean? Honestly, Idia had no idea, but it was the way all the love interests were described in every Wattpad story he had read and it seemed to fit Leona well enough. It pissed Idia off. How was one guy just… ARGH.

“Sorry for the wait. Lost track of time.” Was all Leona said to defend himself. He shrugged.

Of course he lost track of time. Because Idia wasn’t worth more than an extra fifteen minutes of his nap, was he? “Oh suuuuuure. ‘Lost track of time’ he says.” Idia scoffed, “I mean, you drag me out of the comfort of my dorm IRL, have me waiting for fifteen minutes-”

“Raddish Sprout-”

“Don’t give me any heads up-”

Raddish Sprout-

“I nearly had ten anxiety attacks! You know how many times I wanted to shrivel up and die of embarrassment because-”

Idia Shroud.” Leona interrupted Idia’s angry and anxious ramblings once and for all, grabbing him by the shoulders and shaking him.

That effectively got Idia out of his spiral. His gaze snapped up to Leona and he finally realized how close the two were. Now that Leona had stopped shaking him, their faces were only a few inches apart from each other. Idia stopped breathing. He  had never been more thankful for his hood, because he was  fairly sure most of his hair could be mistaken for chewed up bubblegum. They stared at each other for a moment longer before Leona cleared his throat. Leona stepped back and let go of Idia before running a hand through his hair.

Idia let out a sigh of relief. He hadn’t breathed since Leona shook him. “So… what did you want to talk about?”

“Go out with me.”

What?

“Eh- bweh- um, rewind please???” Idia managed. The pink of his hair had definitely reached his bangs now. Had he must’ve misheard. There was no way Leona wanted to go out with Idia. Was there even a ship dynamic for this?

Leona just scoffed and repeated it slowly, like he was talking to a five-year-old. “Go out with me. Do you need me to sound it out for you? Maybe use it in a sentence?”

No- I mean sorry, I mean- uh-... are you sure?” Idia finally settled on. “I mean, surely you can pull better and I’m not the best in social situations. People’ll prolly whisper when they see you with me and-”

“Raddish Sprout, I don’t want to go out with someone better, I want to go out with you.” Leona stated matter-of-factly. “People whisper when they see me anyway. Going out with you won’t change that. We don't have to tell anyone if you don’t want to.”

Idia’s mind was blank. Well, mostly blank. He was trying to figure out what Leona’s ulterior motives were because there was no way he would want to go out without Idia if there wasn’t something in it for him. It wasn’t popularity, that was obvious. Maybe he wanted access to the school’s security cam footage?

Whatever the reason was, Idia couldn’t bring himself to say no. Not that Leona had given him much of a choice. “Um… bet?”

Leona smirked. “Great. When are you free?”

“Uh…” One of Idia’s favorite games had a major update tomorrow, and they wanted at least one day to prepare for the date, so… “Does Sunday work?”

“Yup. Sunday’s great. I’ll pick you up at seven?”  Leona asked. Idia didn’t trust himself not to sputter over his words, so he just nodded. Leona smirked and winked at him before walking away. He called back, “Wear something slightly nicer than your hoodies, got it?”

“A-alright!” Idia managed (surprisingly). He stood there for a few moments, staring at where Leona left even after he had gone. What just happened?

Then the panicked realization set in: Idia had nothing to wear. Leona told him not to wear what he usually wore. That was all Idia had. Well, he had a few cosplays he could wear, but he really didn’t want to pull up to his first date ever as Manjiro Mamado from Spirit Hunters. If they were being honest, Idia had always wanted to dress with a bit more aesthetic, but thanks to his sensory sensitivities, a lot fabrics made him feel like ants were crawling on his skin and those ants were on fire. The (somewhat) same went with makeup. They used  it for a cosplay once, but it felt really cakey and heavy. He tried to keep it on, but he kept scratching and picking at it (sometimes without realizing he was doing it). In the end Idia ended up washing it off. How was Idia supposed to dress up for this date with nothing to wear?

Then they had an idea. The idea was absolutely buns and it made him want to throw his phone across the hall, but he had no other option. Before he started his mission, though, he bolted back to his dorm at speed faster than anyone (even himself) knew he was capable of running at.

🟐🟐🟐

Vil was in the middle of his lunch when Idia called. When Vil picked up his phone and saw the called ID, he quickly excused himself and walked out to the hall. Him and Idia weren’t too close, but all the housewardens had each other’s phone numbers for meeting updates and such. Vil and Idia rarely texted each other privately let alone called (and Vil knew for a fact Idia would pick text over call any day), so can you really blame Vil for assuming someone had died?

Once he was in the hall, Vil accepted the call and put the phone up to his ear. “Idia-”

“VIL YOU GOTTA HELP ME!” Was what immediately blared in Vil’s ear.

“Calm down, calm down. What’s wrong?” He replied.

Idia got quieter but in no way calmed down. “LEONAFREAKINGKINGSCHOLARASKEDMEONADATEANDIDON’THAVEANYTHINGWEARPLEASEHELP-”

Vil managed to make out enough of that sentence to understand the situation. He was mildly surprised. “Wait, wait, Leona asked you out?” He hummed, “About time…”

Idia let out a squawk of shock on the other end of the line. “YOU KNEW?!?!”

“Everone knew, Idia. Your hair turned bright pink whenever he gave you a compliment and - between you and me - I heard him talk about you nonstop to Ruggie.” Vil replied smugly. “Anyways, you need something to wear?”

“Yeah… My closet is full of R-tier clothes. Leona told me to wear something a bit nicer, but I don’t have anything nicer. My fashion stats are SMH lower  then what most people start with and most fabrics are uber uncomfortable and make me wanna ragequit.”

“Sensory issues, huh?” Vil said to himself. It made sense. He had seen Idia in a suit exactly one time. He had looked even more uncomfortable than usual. “I see… and how long do you have until the date?”

“Sunday, but I’mma LWK be busy tomorrow, so about one day to shop…?” Idia mumbled. Then he added quickly, “I-If it’s too soon or too much, I-I get, I can, um, fi-figure it out on my own-”

Vil scoffed, “Idia, don’t doubt my capabilities. Meet me at the mall near NRC on Saturday, okay? We’ll pick out something cute that you wear to that date and that is final.”

Idia squeaked nervously, “U-um, okay!”

“Good. See you on Saturday.” Then he hung up.

Vil stood there for a moment there, compiling a list of stores they would need to hit up when he heard a familiar voice behind him. “Is everything alright, Roi du Poison?”

Vil put his phone away and walked back towards the cafeteria. “Yes, Rook. Idia just needed a favor.”

“Roi de Ta Chambre? What could he possibly need from you?” Rook asked, following Vil back.

“Oh, just a little fashion advice, that’s all.” Vil said simply. “Let’s get back to lunch, shall we?”

🟐🟐🟐

How did Idia let Vil talk him into this? Given, he quite literally asked for it, but still.

Idia was standing outside the mall. He had shoved his hair into his hoodie and pulled the drawstrings tight in an attempt to hide the blue flames. This entire clothes shopping thing was soooo out of his skill set. Normally he skipped the tutorials, but for once he found himself wishing this unskippable cut scene came with one.

“Ah, there you are.” A voice said from behind.

Idia nearly jumped out of skin. He quickly turned around, “V-Vil! Don’t turn on your sneak mode like that!!”

Vil raised an unimpressed  eyebrow. “It’s your fault for being wrapped up in your thoughts. In no way did I try to sneak up on you, I’m quite literally in heels.”

It was true. Vil didn’t have the entire ‘queen’ look going for him, but he was still wearing heels, and he still looked like a ten as always (not Idia’s type nor was he attracted Vil, but Vil was a ten and that was just a fact everyone had to accept). Idia mumbled, “Whatevs… let’s just get started…”

“What was that?” Vil asked, genuinely not hearing him.

Idia sighed and repeated a bit louder, “Whatevs, lets go already.”

Vil nodded. “Alright, let’s.” He walked into the mall and Idia followed him.

When they entered the complex, Idia’s eyes darted around at all the people and stores and people. At this point, Idia was wondering if he should just tell Leona that he can’t make the date. It would be so much easier, plus at least he could say he tried. Then he shook his head. C’mon Idia, this is your first date ever. You have to be willing to play on the difficult level for it!

Finally Vil broke the silence that Idia hadn’t realized he had created. "What is the vibe of the date?”

“Huh?”

Vil rolled his eyes. “You know, like is it fancy? Do we need to go all out, like a suit or just a step up, like a cute outfit?”

Idia thought about what Leona had said (he hadn’t forgotten a single word of that conversation since he had gone over it so many times to check if it was real or if he had imagined the whole thing). Wear something slightly nicer than your hoodies, got it? “Umm… leaning toward a cute outfit?”

“Good to know.” Vil pointed to his phone, “Do you have an outfit board?”

Idia was caught off guard by the somewhat abrupt topic change, “Um, what?”

Vil pinched the bridge of his noise, “On Queentrest, do you have a board for outfit inspo?”

“Oh… yeah, I do, but…” Idia bit his lip. The truth was his outfit board was embarrassing. It was full of mostly ‘alt’ outfits. They were lowkey kind of embarrassing.

“If we’re doing this, Idia, I need to know what I’m working with.” He held out his hand, “Phone.”

Idia sighed and unlocked his phone, handing it to the housewarden of Pomefiore, who then opened Queentrest. Idia looked away so he didn’t see the disgust on Vil’s face. Maybe the other would just flat out laugh. Oh Seven, how would he recover from this-

“Hm, much better than expected.”

…Had he heard that right?

“You- you like it? No cap?” Idia asked, trying and failing not to sound apprehensive.

Vil nodded, “Yes, it’s not half bad. Especially for you.”

Idia scoffed and grumbled, “Gee, TYSM.”

“Yes, yes, now let’s just find you an outfit that’ll help you secure yourself a boyfriend, k?” Vil ignored the way Idia sputtered as he scrolled through the board a bit more, “Yes, this is doable. Come along, I already have a few stores in mind.” And then he walked ahead.

Of course he does… Idia sighed before running to keep up with him. Despite the irritation he felt, he couldn’t help but feel grateful for Vil not judging him too harshly. Honestly, he was grateful for Vil agreeing to this at all. After walking for a little long, Vil finally came too a stop in front of what had to be the biggest alt store Idia had ever seen.

“Here we are. Runic Mages. From what I’ve heard, they’re very good at accommodating sensory issues.” Vil explained. He waved Idia forward and walked into the store.

Seriously, did this guy not know how to wait for someone?

With a quiet groan, he followed Vil into the store and looked around at everything. It someone Ctrl + C’d his board and then Ctrl + V’d it into IRL. There were at least twenty shirts in peripheral vision that he thought only existed in Queentrest and a stand of jewelry that he wanted to go over and loot.

“Woah…” Idia mumbled.

Vil smiled, “See? This is the joy of shopping for something you actually want.”  He handed Idia a shopping basket, “Only put in things you like. Of course, I’ll veto them if they’re truly atrocious.” Then he picked up one for himself.

Idia raised an eyebrow, “You’re shopping too?”

Vil shrugged, “I’ve been wanting to try a new style.” He waved him off, “Now get to it. We reconvene at the dressing rooms.”

“Okay- wait where are the dre- aaaaand you’re gone.” Idia sighed and started browsing the isles. He could cross that bridge once he got to it. For now, he focused at the task: filling his basket. In a way shopping was kind of like a side quest (the main quest was the date obviously). He told himself he was just going to grab one option and be done. Why make this outing longer than it needed to be? But then he found a really cool t-shirt, and a graphic-tee of that had the current anime he was hyper-fixiated on on it, and a comfy cardigan with little skulls on it, and a pant chain, and-

Well, Vil would be very proud.

After picking out a few options, he wandered around the store until he finally found the dressing rooms. It took him longer than it did to actually get the clothes. Sure he could’ve asked a worker where they were, but he’d rather miss his dailies than interact with a stranger IRL (okay, probably not that much, but you get the point). Vil was there already, on the phone with someone. He hung up as soon as he saw Idia walking over.

“Who was that?” Idia asked.

Vil shook his head, “Just a Pomefiore underclassmen making a complaint about Rook. Anyways, let’s start trying outfits on, shall we?”

Idia shrugged, “Okay, but um, fair warning half of this stuff is uh- for me, not the date, so-”

“That’s fine, just don’t wear one of those to the date instead.” Vil said, half jokingly.

Then came the exhausting part: actually trying on outfits. Idia started with outfit one. It was a simple baggy black shirt, ripped, baggy, black jeans (though they felt like sweats on the inside), and white hightops with black rose designs along the side. Vil took one look at it and immediately vetoed.

“No. Try again.”

Idia sputtered, “B-but this is already better than what I normally wear-”

Vil shook his head pitifully, “While I agree, I brought you here so you could look like an alternative diva, not a basic bitch. Try. Again.”

“Whatevs…” Idia grumbled as he walked back into the dressing room. Outfit number two was something a little less his style. The top was a white and sleeveless button up, a gray tie, black skinny jeans, and the same high tops from before. When Idia walked out of the changing room, Vil didn’t immediately shoo him off.

He hummed thoughtfully, “Not too shabby, but you seem uncomfortable.”

“How did you-” Idia started to say.

Vil cut him off, “Oh please, anyone can tell. You’re stiff as a board and your shoulders are touching your ears.”

Well, Vil wasn’t lying. The jeans felt way too tight and constricting. Idia was fairly sure he would self-destruct if he had to stay in them a minute longer. He just nodded and quickly went back into the dressing room a second time. Surely the third time was the charm, right?

Spoiler alert: the third time was not the charm. Neither was the fourth. Or the fifth, or the sixth. Some outfits he still decided to buy anyway. Vil told him most of the outfits were cute, just not first date material. Idia could hear his bank account sobbing. Eh. It could take the L for the day.

And then finally - finally - outfit number way-too-high was the one that made Vil gasp, “Yes. That’s the one.”

Idia let out a sigh of relief. “About time. This was the most annoying unskippable cut scene ever…” He stretched, “We check out then go, right?”

“Hold on, I have to try on my clothing.” Vil said, standing and collecting his clothes.

“Oh, c’mon!” Idia groaned.

After about another hour of Vil trying on the clothes he picked out (which he looked stunning in) and went to check out. First, however, they tried on different accessories to see what matched the outfit. Then they saw a rack of these absolutely ridiculous looking glasses, so of course they had to take pictures in them.

They walked out of the mall when all was done. Vil was scrolling through photos they took and keeping the ones where he looked good (Idia didn’t understand why he didn’t just keep all of them, but whatever). “Good job today. I didn’t expect you to have any taste in fashion, but you surprised me.

Idia rolled his eyes. They walked in silence for a while before Idia spoke up, “Thanks…”

Vil smiled, “Of course. Clothes shopping is what I live for. Now let’s head back  to Pomefiore to practice ways to do your hair.”

Idia looked at him in surprise, “B-but I just needed an outfit-”

“Sure, but if I let you go on a date with your hair looking like a rats nest, I might as well throw myself in jail.” Vil explained, dragging Idia along. “Now come hither.”

Idia groaned. “Fine.”

The crazy things people did for romance.

🟐🟐🟐

How did Leona let his feelings sneak up for Idia on him? It wasn’t love at first sight, that was for sure. That implied he actually saw Idia the first time he met. No, the first time they met was Idia’s first housewarden meeting, and Idia had attended that via iPad. Leona didn’t even really remember the first proper interaction he had with the introvert because that’s how little of a moment it seemed at the time. If he thought about it long enough though, it was probably one of the class periods he shared with Idia when they had a test. He asked Idia about something. Maybe it was for a pencil? Or maybe a question about Idia’s hair? Whatever the case, Idia got all mumbly and embarrassed. Leona had ultimately decided that he didn’t have time for whatever the radish sprout was on about and went back to the test.

They scarcely interacted after that for a while and usually only at meetings. That was until one night when Leona went to the school roof to play chess by himself (yes that was possible). He didn’t go up to the roof often, considering it technically wasn’t allowed and he didn’t care enough to sneak his way up there, but when he tried the handle to the roof one night out of pure chance, it was unlocked and so he went.

What - or rather who -  he didn’t expect to find was Idia Shroud sitting down and hunched over his tablet. Leona remembered Idia nearly flung his iPad off the roof when he finally realized he wasn’t alone. They sat in silence for a moment before Leona sighed and offered a game of chess. Idia - he learned - became much more talkative over a board game. He also learned that Idia had come to the roof because there was supposed to be a meteor shower that night, the reason he attended class via tablet was because of his social anxiety, a lot of gamer terms, and that Idia was really damn good at chess. Every game they played was almost evenly matched, but Leona still lost every time. Leona ended up leaving the roof top before the meteor shower happened, but he made Idia promise him a rematch. Idia had agreed.

Then Idia’s overblot happened.

Leona wished he could forget most of what happened over the days that lead up to it.

After everything that transpired, he did finally get to have his chess rematch with Idia. And another. And another. Leona had started to look forward to their hangouts. What he didn’t notice was how Idia slowly wormed his way into his thoughts. It started out as him randomly thinking about the Ignihyde housewarden here and there, and then he started thinking about him during the periods they shared, and then the periods they didn’t share, and then at lunch, and only when he started thinking about Idia when he was trying to nap that Leona realized - oh shit - he had a crush on the damn introvert.

The realization didn’t help anything. If anything, it only made it worse. Every little thing somehow connected back to Idia. Leona couldn’t eat food without wondering if Idia would like, he couldn’t play chess against himself without wishing Idia was who he was playing against, he couldn’t-

Point being, it was becoming an annoying hassle.

It got so bad, Ruggie noticed how distracted Leona had became. So he kept asking and prying and annoying Leona until he finally admitted what had been going on in his head. Then the hyena practically forced Leona to confess. Leona had sighed and said he’d arrange it next time he called Idia.

Leona called Idia an hour later than the time he had said. The excuse he gave was his nap ran long. The reality? During that hour, every time he was about to call, he pushed it off for five more minutes. He pushed it off for five more minutes twenty times before Ruggie finally got fed up and pressed the call button for him.

And that was how the second prince ended up asking the introverted housewarden of Ignihyde out, which is what brought the prince to where he was now: laying in his bed and staring at the ceiling the day before the date. Leona already had everything planned out in his head; what he was going to wear, the food, the place where the date would take place, etc.. There was just one problem, however.

Leona had no idea how to be romantic.

He had never been one to believe in true love. The idea of a perfect romance - not even perfect, just romance in general - never even seemed to be in the cards for him. It seemed about as likely as him becoming king. Romance was never Leona’s thing. That was more in his brother’s ballpark-...

…oh. Oh no.

That was a terrible idea. A last resort. Unfortunately, he was all out of resorts.

“Dear Seven, why me…?” He mumbled to himself, pulling out his phone. He clicked his brother’s contact.

The first ring didn’t even have the chance to finish before Falena picked up the phone, “Leona, hi! It’s been ages! Did- uh- did someone die? Why are you calling?” Judging by the tone of his voice, Falena was shocked but excited his brother was calling, which was fair. Had they not gone to watch the Interdorm Spelldrive Tournament, his family probably would have learned of his overblot by Leona randomly dropping that in the silence of a conversation as an icebreaker (Seven knows Crowley wouldn’t tell them jackshit).

“Brother, I need romance advice.” First sentence Leona has said to his brother since winter break, by the way.

That didn't help Falena’s state of shock. “...Come again?”

Leona sighed, “I’m going on a date tonight. How do I…” He trailed off, trying to finish his sentence without sounding pathetic or desperate.

Falena filled it in, “...not mess it up?”

“I guess that’s one way to put it…” Leona grumbled.

“Who is this girl anyways?” Falena asked. “Or guy.” He added quickly. “Or- uh- let’s just go with person.”

Leona couldn’t help but roll his eyes (even if he could have helped it, he wouldn’t have stopped it). Before they had grown apart, Falena was the second person Leona came out to as pan, the first being Kifaji. Falena had always been accepting, but also very careful. It was amusing, to some extent. “His name is Idia Shroud. Doubt you know him.”

“Okay… well what specifically do you need advice on?” Falena questioned.

“Just- look, I’m not a romantic guy, okay? I don’t know what I’m doing. Sure people might find me attractive,  but that’s different from actually having a relationship.” He admitted.

Falena chuckled. “Okay, okay, I get it. You really like this guy, yeah?”

Leona paused. “Yeah…”

“And he likes you back?”

“I think?” Leona ran a hand through his hair, “I didn’t give him much of a choice when I asked him out.”

“What does that mean?” His brother asked, clearly confused.

Leona pinched the bridge of his nose, “When I asked, I kind of said “Go out with me”, those words exactly.

The line fell silent. “...Oh tell me you’re joking.” Then Falena burst out laughing.

“Oh, shut up.” Leona said, trying to keep the embarrassment out of his voice.

Falena tried to stop laughing, although he failed. “I-I’m but- Leona, you can’t just tell someone they’re going out with you!”

“I told you I’m not good at this whole ‘feelings’ thing.” Leona mumbled, “Just tell me what to do so this date doesn’t end up being a disaster?”

“Alright, alright. First tip: make the night about him. Compliment him, talk about his interests, etc.. Obviously if he asks questions about you, answer them, but don’t talk about yourself all night. No one wants to listen to someone talk about themselves for hours on end.” Falena explained.

Leona wanted to argue that he wouldn’t mind at all if Idia talked about himself for hours on end all night, but he decided to keep his dignity. “Great. Anything else?”

Falena went quiet while he thought. “Oh, yeah! Gifts. Flowers or something, but bring a gift.”

Flowers? Nah, not for Idia at least. Leona decided to pick up energy drinks and gummy worms instead. “I can do that.”

“Okay, let’s see… you have the date planned already?” Falena asked.

Leona scoffed, “Of course I do, Falena. Have you met me?”

His brother chuckled, “Right, right, I got the lion’s strength, you got the lion’s brains, how could I forget?”

Silence fell on the line for a while. It was a mix of uncomfortable and peaceful and… meaningful, maybe?

Then Falena said, “I don’t think you’ve ever cared this much about anything.”

“...I don’t think I have.” Leona replied after a moment.

He swore he could hear the smile in Falena’s voice, “I’m glad you found someone who makes you happy.”

“I don’t have time for your wishy-washy.” Leona grumbled. The Seven could strike him down before he admitted he was happy Falena approved. “I have to go now. Tell the hairball I said hi.”

Falena chuckled. “That hairball is your nephew, but alright. Bye-”

And Leona hung up, staring at his ceiling once more. He did surprisingly feel more confident after getting pointers from his brother. With a sigh, he made one more phone call.

“Ruggie, I need you to pick up a few things for me at Sam’s store.”

🟐🟐🟐

On Saturday, Leona was waiting outside of Idia’s dorm, checking his watch. He actually made sure he was on time this time around, but now it seemed like he should’ve taken his sweet precious time because Idia clearly was. It was ten minutes after and Idia still hadn’t left his room. Leona considered knocking on the door, but he didn’t want to make Idia feel rushed. The guy’s normal mode was anxious, Leona didn’t want to make that worse.

A few Ignihyde students walked by and whispered behind their hands when they saw the second prince. He snarled at them and they shut up, then speed-walked off. Dumb herbivores…

And then finally Idia door opened. Leona scoffed and turned to look at him. “About ti-”

The words died on his tongue. Idia looked gorgeous. Of course, he always looked gorgeous, but especially then, just… wow.

His usually baggy hoodies and sweats were gone. Instead, he was wearing a black short sleeved crop top with a moon design on the middle of it. Under the shirt was a long sleeved black and white shirt. He was also wearing black jeans and black studded combat boots that brought Idia closer to Leona’s height. A few silver chains hung around Idia’s neck. His eyes were outlined with eyeliner and just a little bit of black eyeshadow. His hair was tied back in a braid, the normal blue color faded to pink at the tips.

Oh great. Now Leona had a thing for e-boys.

“Um… hi…” Idia finally greeted.

“Hey.” Leona said. He looked Idia up and down one more time, “You look great.”

A voice from inside Idia’s room called out. A rather familiar voice that belonged to a certain beauty queen. “Of course he does.” And out stepped Vil in all his annoying glory.

Leona glared, “What’s he doing here?”

Idia sighed, “I asked him for help with my outfit and he insisted on helping me get ready for the actual date.”

Vil smirked and waved them on. “Carry on and pretend like I’m not here.”

Both of them rolled their eyes but neither argued. There was no arguing with Vil when he was like that. Before Leona forgot, he opened hit bag and pulled out a bag of sour gummy worms and some rare energy drink he had Ruggie pick up. “These are for you.”

Idia’s eyes widened as he took the gifts. “Leona, you really didn’t- I don't have anything to give you-”

“I don’t need anything. This date is more than enough.” Leona assured. He held out hand for Idia to take, “Ready to go?”

Idia hesitated before nodding and shifting the gifts into one arm, taking Leona’s hand with his free one, “Ready.” His hand was cold yet still made Leona feel warm inside.

“Have fun, lovebirds.” Vil smirked as he walked ahead of them.

Idia’s haired burned more pink than blue at that comment. Leona scoffed and rolled his eyes.
