Summary
Kaede has long admired Kikyo, both as her older sister and esteemed priestess--however, when 'wife' joins her long list of titles, she struggles to adapt as the third wheel on lovers' passion; increasingly lonely and neglected, Kaede finds solace in the last person she'd ever to believe--the budding runt of the wolves' mountains. As it so happens, their mothers are struggling to keep their babies, and Kaede someday aspires to be a midwife. When two cultures normally at war collide, unusual revelations arise that perhaps humans and demons are not as far apart as appearances would have it.
