Work Text:
The lack of starlight in the sky was replaced by the warm shine of city lights, he stood at the front of the casino with his sword in hand while staring at the sky looking for the moon, there was no hint of it, guess there's no one to talk to.
Quackity was very strict about Purpled's work hours, he stayed guarding the casino overnight, which Purpled didn't understand since there are no threats big enough at the moment to the point of hiring someone as skilled as him to pull an all nighter.
He wasn't someone that needed much sleep to function, but he had to admit he was also emotionally tired, he just wanted to drop dead on his bed and take a good nap.
At the thought of that his eyes started to close, he was too tired to fight it, Purpled went inside of the casino, everyone was in their own business, the sound of people laughing, talking and slot machines was irritating but he would never get caught sleeping outside.
Purpled dropped himself on a chair in a place that wouldn't grab much attention, he placed his arms on the table in front of him dropping his head on his arms, the position was way more comfortable than it looked, but maybe it was just that he was way too gone to care, all he could dream of was rest, no one seemed to notice him for now, if his boss saw him like this he'd probably be dead.
Speaking of.
Quackity looked around the place, since he put Purpled to guard the entry of the casino he was the one that had to check if anyone was cheating, as he walked deeper into the casino he spotted something he didn't expect.
-"Purpled?"- He couldn't see the teen's face because of his position, was he sleeping?
Luckily that didn't wake him up, Quackity sighed and slowly walked closer towards the other, Purpled's breath was quiet and slow paced, it warmed Quackity's heart seeing him sleep so peacefully, he deserved it after all.
He softly caressed Purpled's back, he was hesitant at first to be honest.
Quackity sighed once again and gently held Purpled starting to carry him towards his room, he was making sure to walk slowly to not wake him up, if Purpled saw what was happening Quackity would be embarrassed to death, but he wasn't going to allow his employee to not have proper rest.
Once at Purpled's room Quackity left him on his bed and tucked him in, he sat on the bed and carefully started caressing his hair, he knew Purpled doesn't like getting his head touched, he's way too cautious about anyone touching his antennae, maybe they're sensitive, maybe it's just a thing Purpled has, Quackity has no idea, but he still respects that.
-"I know you're tired, I feel the same way,"- Quackity whispered to himself while looking at the other who was still sleeping. -"Rest well, you need it"- he finally stood up and walked outside of the room careful to not make a single noise with the door, taking care of Purpled somehow made him feel peaceful and he didn't want to admit it.
His eyes opened slowly, last thing he remembers was trying to sleep at the casino, so why the hell is he in his bed all tucked in? He was starting to think that maybe his memory is questionable until he saw a soft yellow almost golden feather laying on the sheets.
Oh.
