Summary
The Sky People left Pandora.
That was the version of the story everyone preferred.But humans did not leave what they already considered theirs lightly. They left claw marks in the soil. A promise to return, and a refusal to accept defeat.
Ava grew up inside that promise. Not in exile, but in hiding. A secret buried underground in a compound called Anchorpoint.
She was raised human in a body that wasn’t, taught what to value, what to mourn, what to live for. Raised in steel and recycled air, in a city beneath the forest while the world above moved on without them.
She learned not to question the origins of her blue skin, or why the ground sometimes felt like it was listening.
But Pandora had never been particularly forgiving about unfinished stories.
And while some people were made for home, others were made for leaving.
