Neil woke with a start. That was rare but not unusual for people like them. Andrew watched him adjust to being awake with feigned disinterest. He'd been awake himself for only five minutes and he most definitely was not watching Neil sleep. And if he was, it was only because Neil's heart was rabbiting in his chest, reverberating through his back and hammering into Andrew's own chest."
