I kinda wanna kiss your girlfriend (if you don't mind)

Summary:

“Well, it was at that moment I realized that I might have been wrong about you. I really like you, Elphaba. And I was hoping you, well, felt the same…” he says it like it's a question.

Elphaba simply blinks at him, obviously confused by the whole situation.

Once. Then twice.

“…Don't you have a girlfriend?” she asks, perhaps wishing he just drops the subject. She's not looking for a relationship with her best friend's boyfriend. Or a relationship with any boy for that matter.

Fiyero laughs, a bit nervously so. “Well. Yes. I was thinking we could all be together. Like, the three of us.”
---
Or: The throuple happens but Galinda really doesn't like sharing

Notes:

shoutout to my wife for helping me with the title :3 (she's not my wife I do not know her irl but like yes she is) With helping I mean she said I should name it after a song. I kept thinking of After Mignight while writing this so yeah (: I couldn't come up with anything better ):
---
Uhh idk how (man) feelings work so might not be the most accurate forgive me, tw for awkward Fiyero and just Fiyero in general.

Work Text:

“Elphaba, I've been meaning to ask you something…” Fiyero says, running a hand through his hair. He hasn't gotten the chance to talk to Elphaba alone in weeks, but now that Galinda is out of town, this seems like a good opportunity to him.

“Go on.”

“At the Ozdust, back when you and Galinda—” He stares down at the ground.

Like, the three of us.” An awkward silence follows.

“So you're with both of us, but me and Galinda are also together..?” the girl doesn't want to immediately start making conclusions on what's happening, but if she is right, that would make it sound much more appealing to her.

“Yes,” Fiyero confirms.

Well that changes things.

It's not ideal, of course. She'd rather have Galinda for herself. But she's also fairly sure she knows Galinda would never break up with her boyfriend for her roommate. This would probably be the closest she would ever get anyway, so who is she to complain?

Just then, another, maybe small, but still very important thing pops up in her head.

“Does Galinda know about this?” She looks up at Fiyero and meets his eyes.

“Well, no. I wanted to talk to you first, not at the same time. Would be worse if either of you said no,” he answers.

That does make sense to her. So, finally, she agrees. Kind of. “I'll, uh, consider.” she feels her face grow hot and hopes she could benefit from having green skin for once. “I'll tell you after you've asked Galinda,” she adds then.

“Okay. Great, thanks Elphaba,” he replies, fidgeting with his sleeve just the tiniest bit more than he had been doing before. It feels strange, Elphaba hadn't been aware Fiyero was capable of feeling even slightly embarrassed before this night. What a discovery.

“Bye.”

“Yes, bye.”

And with that, he's out of the room.

Well that… happened.

She does have a lot to consider, she thinks to herself. There's quite a bit of sides to this. Sitting down on her bed, she goes over the possible results this thing could lead to.

It's not that she likes or wants to be with Fiyero, but she does like Galinda. Acknowledging she probably wouldn't have a chance with her in any other scenario aside from this one (not that she is confident Galinda's going to agree to this either, but the chances are at least a bit more in her favor, Fiyero being Galinda's 'perfect' boyfriend and all), she finds she could at least give it a try. And who knows, she tells herself, maybe she would somehow tolerate being with Fiyero and maybe Galinda would agree to this relationship, without that being only for him.

Wait, is that possible? She asks herself. Galinda wanting to be with her for her, and not for her boyfriend who fell in love with someone else, and instead of breaking up with her like any normal person would do, suggested they all be together?

She can't imagine Galinda ever wanting her like that, but then… what if she did? Elphaba would only have to deal with Fiyero outside their room, meanwhile once they were inside, she would have her all for herself. She tries to imagine the full picture, them all going back from class and Fiyero finally leaving while she and Galinda would still have hours together, but she quickly stops herself from doing so, realizing she's probably getting ahead of herself. Nothing is confirmed yet.

But still, she can't fully put it away either.

How often do Fiyero and Galinda even go out? About once or twice a week, she guesses. And every single minute outside of that and some classes, there would be no boyfriend to deal with.

Seems good enough.

As much as she's aware she should think this trough better, Elphaba knows she's made up her mind. Now all she has to do is wait for Galinda's answer.

---

“Morning, Elphie.” A certain someone Elphaba most definitely had not been dreaming about stands right next to her bed.

“Good morning.” She decides not to mention what happened yesterday, instead waiting for Fiyero or Galinda to bring it up. She'll ask him about it today. As she starts preparing herself for the day, she notices how much happier Galinda looks here. Whenever they're out out in public together, when there's people around, Elphaba can see a slight tension in Galinda's face which seems to fade only while it's just the two of them.

She lets it rest for now, continuing making herself ready rather than wondering. Classes are pretty boring that day, but they go by pretty fast. Both girls do pretty well on a test, and after a few hours, Elphaba is lucky to have one class without Galinda and with Fiyero.

Elphaba spends a good part of the lesson trying to find a not too weird way of bringing their previous conversation up, but eventually settles on 'simply asking'. Right as Fiyero is about the leave, she taps him on the shoulder and he turns around to meet her gaze.

“Have you talked to her yet?” Looking around, she tries to see if there's many people left and hopes the few students who are still there aren't paying too close attention to what they're discussing.

“About—oh. Right,” he stammers. “I was about to. Uhm, do you happen to know if she has time this evening?”

She nods at him. “She doesn't have any plans. Why, planning on taking her out on a romantic date just to ask her if she wants to be with someone else?”

“Well,” he continues, “not exactly, but I wouldn't want to tell her with too much people around, let alone with you around.”

She looks at the clock. Her next class begins in one minute. “Right, that makes sense. I have to go now, bye Fiyero!” She walks off into a crowd of students too fast to be able to hear his response.

---

“Have fun!” Elphaba calls after Galinda, and she prays it doesn't sound too fake. Whether Galinda notices or not, the blonde doesn't question it and at least seems to be normal about it.

She’s about to leave with her boyfriend for the night. The boyfriend in question stands next to her, trying a bit too hard to keep acting normal. And to be fair, Elphaba's doing the same.

And then she and Fiyero are gone, and all Elphaba can do is sit and wait.

Waiting takes long. She's tried reading, studying, taking a shower, even trying to sleep already, but she just can't get her mind off things. Either Galinda comes back frustrated and probably angry at Fiyero too, and, if luck won't be on her side, she'll be angry at Elphaba too for considering such a thing.

Or, though it's not likely this will happen according to Elphaba, Galinda comes back (hopefully alone) as now her girlfriend and everything will be great. (Besides, of course, Fiyero still being there.)

She does hope it's the latter.

---

“Elphie! I'm ba-ack!” Galinda sing-songs.

Well, it doesn't sound too bad. Yet.

“Hi! How was your date?” she asks perhaps a bit too casually. She really doesn't want to have to be the one to bring it up.

“It was good. Uhm, Fiyero mentioned something. He said you'd already talked about it with him.” Is she nervous? Elphaba can't quite tell what it is, but there's something different about the girl, and it’s not anger like she’d expected.

“Yes. He did.”

For a moment, Elphaba expects nothing else is going to happen regarding their conversation, but Galinda suddenly takes her hand.

“I want to do it. That is, if you want that too.” Well, that's unexpected. Elphaba hadn't realized it could be that simple.

“I… me too, then.”

Galinda completely lights up, and all of Elphaba's worries from before vanish. “Oh thank Oz,” Galinda says, and moves to pull her in for a hug. “You know, I'm positively certain I would have died on the spot if you'd said no, Elphie,” she murmurs into dark braids. It's only then that Elphaba remembers to hug Galinda back. She feels herself and Galinda melt into it.

“I think, me too. Though I would have never dared to say it first.” She feels Galinda's hold around her tighten.

“Mhm. Well, it all worked out,” said girl answers.

“It did.” Galinda then finally lets go of her.

For a moment, they just stand there, smiling. Elphaba considers herself very lucky, and apparently so does Galinda. Speaking of, she can’t help but observe the way Galinda looks at her in a way that she’d never expected anyone to look at her.

Wait. What is she staring for?

She catches Galinda's eyes look down at her lips for just a second, right before looking back up and meeting green eyes again.

Her mind pauses, but gets back to functioning again pretty quickly. Right. That is usually what happens.

She gives Galinda a tiny nod, and she takes the hint and leans in.

If she's being honest, Elphaba had been very nervous about this before. She hadn't gotten the time to fully prepare herself, but the idea of messing things up definitely didn't help. That is, until the kiss actually happens. Closing her eyes shut, she learns that even if she isn't sure where to place her hands, or really what to do in general, luckily for her, Galinda isn't afraid to take the lead and it all turns out just fine. More than that, even.

Galinda takes green hands in her own and places one of them on her back and the other up to her neck. Then, she moves one of her own, now free, hands to Elphaba's back, and uses the other one to slowly run her fingers through her hair, nails occasionally scratching at her scalp. Elphaba hums into her mouth at the new contact.

It's all very… comfortable. Nothing like she'd imagined before. Most of the time in her own mind, she would still enjoy kissing Galinda, but at the same time, feel all tense. Almost like Galinda wasn't kissing her out of free will. (Which could easily be explained by the fact that Elphaba had been convinced Galinda would never want this until, well, a few minutes ago.) This is also why she never really allowed herself to let her thoughts get too far.

Time seems to stand still for a while. Galinda's hands running through her hair, Galinda's lips on hers. It simply feels right.

Just then, Galinda breaks off the kiss. Elphaba barely manages to suppress her obvious sadness at the loss. For a moment, they only stare at each other, but Galinda eventually manages to break the silence.

“Was that okay?”

Elphaba nods, a bit too fast if you ask her. “Yeah,” she answers. “I—I liked it.”

“I'm glad. Me too, Elphie.”

They then part, both calmly getting ready for the night. Neither of them wants to say anything about it, but both girls do notice how they keep looking away from each other, likely too scared to make a comment about what recently took place. Elphaba decides not to make a comment on it and just assumes it will get better overtime, especially with Fiyero being there to keep them all together. She shrugs the thought of him off as quickly as it came.

Galinda, however, certainly does not feel like losing her right after something had finally happened.

As she's finishing getting ready, she takes a look at her roommate's bed. Elphaba is lying there, on her side and completely still. Galinda finds it weird. Normally she's reading or studying or whatever it is she does to fall asleep. And now she's doing absolutely nothing, her back facing Galinda, making it impossible to get even the slightest look at her expression.

Well that won’t do.

Still questioning herself on what she's doing, she moves closer to the bed and lies down next to Elphaba, who rolls over to her side right after she notices movement on the other side of the bed. Just a second later, they're face to face again, and Galinda swears she can feel her breath.

“Hi pretty,” she tells Elphaba. It’s a little bold, but she can't just not call Elphaba pretty with her looking like that.

Elphaba blushes such a beautiful shade of green (if you ask her now-girlfriend). “Don't call me that.” She attempts to hide her blush in the crook of Galinda's neck, but fails as she's being pushed back again in order to meet her eyes.

“Why ever not?” the blonde challenges. She truly can’t see how anyone could disagree with her. Sure, Elphie’s skin is unusual. But not ugly, and she’d known that way back when she still loathed her.

“You don't have to lie to me.”

Galinda gasps theatrically, trying to lighten up the mood a bit, though deep down she does know that the conversation is pretty serious. “Elphie! How dare you accuse me of such a thing! I'll have you know you're the most beautiful person I've ever seen.” Elphaba can only laugh at this.

“What's so funny?”

“You're ridiculous.”

“I am merely stating the obvious.” To prove her point, Galinda presses quick kiss to her forehead. She promises herself she’ll help Elphie believe how pretty she is another time. “Now let's go to sleep.” She turns off the lights, secretly hoping that would make Elphie a bit less nervous and give her some space. She seems tense to her.

“Elphie? You still there?”

“Yeah.”

“Good.”

She pauses, not quite sure how to put her following question.

“…Do you, maybe, want to cuddle?” she asks finally, her voice pitched higher than under most circumstances.

Elphaba stares at her for as much as that's possible considering the darkness. “What?”

“I just thought… since that's what couples do. Sometimes. And I—”

“No, I'm aware," Elphaba cuts off, "but… surprised too I guess. You know this is all pretty new for me. The holding hands, and hugs and just touch in general. No one else has ever wanted to do that with me.”

“No one? Not even your own family?”

“I… not really. Possibly my mother, or Nessa when we were kids. But that pretty much sums it all up.”

“Well, Elphie, that's just horrible! Let me fix that. Please. Only if you'll let me, of course.”

Right after she agrees, Elphaba is being pulled in for a hug, and this time, is not let go. At first, she freezes and is unable to truly enjoy the embrace. But as time passes by, she learns to relax and fit her body perfectly into Galinda's. Pale hands move up to her hair as they start scratching at her scalp, mimicking what they had done before.

Elphaba leans into it and lets out a soft sigh. After a while, she gathers the courage to hold Galinda closer, encouraging her to keep doing what she’s doing.

They fall asleep together, lying like that. Elphaba feels like she’s truly at peace for the first time. Or perhaps, she thinks, she already had been, all the way back when she and Galinda had become friends. It just had just taken her some time to realize it.

---

The next few days go as well as Elphaba had expected beforehand. Being with Galinda is great, especially on school nights, where they always fall asleep holding each other.

Some less enjoyable parts for Elphaba are classes with Fiyero. Specifically the ones without Galinda. But those aren't the worst part yet.

Luckily this doesn’t occur often, but on some nights when none of them has anything important the following day, they all have some kind of… sleepover? She’s not sure what to call it, but Fiyero comes over to their room (which already feels like an invasion of privacy to Elphaba), and they talk, if she’s lucky.

She’s not very lucky tonight. They’re all sharing Galinda’s bed. This wouldn’t be a problem, they do it all the time and there’s enough space. Except this time, Fiyero thought it would be nice if he got to be in the middle. Or at least, he just places himself there, not really discussing.

Elphaba has always preferred Galinda, and she’s very aware of this, but does not do anything with it as she feels that would be unfair to Fiyero. After all, she’s the one that lied to him.

But something seems to have changed since their first  night like this. Galinda has either picked up on her feelings and wants to help her (though Elphaba wonders why she would do that), or the blonde simply feels the same way.

But that’s not really an option.

Is it?

The reason for Elphaba thinking either of these things could be true is the fact that Galinda seems to want to be closer to her too. Or help get her away from Fiyero.

“Fiyero, dearest. I really do appreciate, well, everything you’ve done. Getting us all together and all that.”

She pauses, awaiting a reaction. When she doesn’t get one, she continues, “It’s just… Elphie and I are together every night. I mostly hold her then. And I just think she’s kind of used to that. Oh, but Elphie, do correct me if I’m wrong."

Elphaba is unsure if this is some kind of plan to be together or just Galinda being honest. If it is a plan, she plays along. If it’s not, well, she wouldn’t call it exactly lying. She does want Galinda next to her.

“No. You are right.”

Please, Fiyero, she thinks. Take the hint.

“Oh. Of course,” is his reply.

Oh thank Oz, her mind quietly says. This only lasts a few seconds though. This time being the time before instead of moving away, Fiyero is pulling her closer and wrapping his arms around her. She barely manages to stop herself from protesting, or worse: completely shoving him off of her. For a moment she hopes Galinda might still say something, but the girl seems to have turned her head around.

The rest of the night goes… fine, for Fiyero. Elphaba, on the other hand, barely manages to close her eyes. Everything about him feels wrong. His breath against her face, his arms, his hands, his hair. It’s already way past midnight when he’s finally asleep and she’s able to slowly move away from him.

She stares at the ceiling and wonders how she’s going to keep on dealing with him.

---

Is it just her, or does he do it on purpose? Every single time she and Galinda are together, he has to get between them.

It seems both girls are noticing this.

They recently finished their last class of the day, one they shared with Fiyero, who had decided to sit between the two of them once again. Right as he's walking away, Galinda grabs Elphaba by her hand and  pulls her with her with more force than she normally does.

When they arrive back in their dorm, she immediately begins complaining.

“Oh he is just so infuriating!”

This confuses Elphaba, Fiyero hadn’t done anything that different today. “What are you talking about?”

“It’s just—he keeps you all to himself.”

As much as Elphaba wants to agree, she reminds herself she had once chosen to be in this relationship. “Well, we are all together. It’s only fair he gets to be with us outside our room, since we spend all our time together in here.”

Galinda pouts. “I don’t ca-are,” she says, dramatically dragging out the last word. She crosses het arms as if she’s making a point.

Elphaba remembers something, then.

“You have me for yourself now, though.”

Galinda lights up at that, making Elphaba smile too.

And just like that, she’s being pulled down onto the bed, next to her girlfriend, who then starts pressing kisses all over her face.

Elphaba tries to remind herself to focus on it, as she wants to be able to remember this moment. Galinda is too busy admiring her to really notice the grin on Elphaba’s face she’s caused, but that is probably for the better, Elphaba knows she would have made a comment on it.

“Look at you, Elphie. You’re so beautiful.” And before Elphaba even gets the chance to argue, Galinda adds,  “Wait. Let me just—”

Galinda sits up, pulls Elphaba with her, and shifts the both of them so that her knees are on either side of her waist.

“Elphie—”  she tries, before being cut off by Elphaba kissing her on the lips this time. She herself is unsure where she got the courage.

“Mm. Just…” Galinda murmurs for as far as she’s able to form words. She then shifts in her lap and parts her lips a bit, making room for her tongue. “Like that.” Elphaba mimics the gesture right after.

They continue their kisses for a while, hands roaming and exploring each other as they’re doing so. Galinda’s chest heaves, but she doesn’t stop yet. Quite the opposite, actually! She pushes in a bit further, needing more of Elphie.

She could do this forever, she thinks. Just the two of them, without anyone else being a bother. But most things good don’t last forever, she learns.

This time, it is Elphaba who breaks off the contact (or at least part of it. Galinda is still sitting on her lap). Fully out of breath, she leans in to rest her head on a half-uncovered shoulder.

When Elphaba looks up again, she’s laughing. Not just a smile, actually laughing! And oh, Galinda just wants to kiss her more now.

“How was that?” she decides to ask first, wanting to make sure Elphaba is comfortable.

“Good.”

Galinda pretends to be offended. “Just good? You wound me.”

“What do you want me to say? That it was absolutely fantastical?”

“Yes! I’ll take it, thank you so much Elphie!” And there’s that laugh again.

Galinda leans in once more, not wasting time and immediately inserting her tongue. She swears she hears the softest sound come out of Elphaba’s mouth, but she brushes it off. Her hands move to her back to steady herself, while one green hand is placed on her back, another in her hair.

She fears she simply must have more of Elphaba, so she places the tiniest kisses down  throat, then down her neck…

She’s pushed away gently once she gets to her collarbone. She lets out a small whimper at the loss of contact.

Then she stops to think about what just happened, and comes to a conclusion. “Did I make you uncomfortable?” she asks, worried. “Oh, I’m so sorry, Elphie. I just—I got carried away. But you just looked so pretty and… No, I know that’s not an excuse. I am sorry.”

“My sweet,” Elphaba responds, “I promise you I wasn’t uncomfortable, just tired. I have classes tomorrow morning and I know for sure that if you continued we wouldn’t have stopped until after midnight.”

Galinda giggles at this. “You truly believe so, Miss Elphaba?”

“I do.”

She nuzzles her face in the older girl’s neck and hums. “That’s good.” She pauses.

“Oh, I so do enjoy having you all for myself,” follows.

Thoughts run through Elphaba’s mind faster than ever, but she settles on not questioning Galinda’s statement any further. She had probably just gotten caught up in the moment, she tells herself.

---

She had known it was eventually going to happen, but when she and Fiyero were, at last, alone, she really does feel like throwing up. Galinda is out with Pfannee and Shenshen. Fiyero for some awful reason thinks that showing up in her room that exact night is a very good idea. He hadn’t even told Galinda, had not warned Elphaba and it really seems like he had planned this to her.

She suspects this because of the fact that Galinda had mentioned having plans today multiple times! And now he’s standing there, waiting to be let in and grinning as if he knows very well what he is doing.

“Fiyero.”

“Yes?”

“What are you here for?”

He smiles. “Well, for you of course.”

Oh great Oz. “I… Galinda isn’t here. Sorry.” She really hopes this will get the message across and purposely does not mention that she will be back in a few minutes.

“Is that really that big of a deal? I mean, surely you and Galinda are still together when I’m not here?”

“No, of course, it’s fine. I just wanted to tell you in case you wanted her here too,” she lies.

The door is closed and only moments later she feels his lips against hers. It’s not forceful or rough, yet she still flinches, then remembers to close her eyes. He continues to move the both of them across the room while she makes an effort to make it seem like she wants this and moves her hands to his neck.

Just five minutes, she reminds herself. Galinda will be back.

For a moment, she thinks she might be fine for this short amount of a time, but then she feels the hands on her back move to her shoulders and lightly push her down to sit on her bed.

Just like that, she knows she will not be fine. Five minutes really is a long time. And who knows? Maybe Galinda will take longer and—

Her mind is interrupted by Fiyero, who is now sitting next to her, kissing her again. More forcefully this time. He wraps his arms around her waist and she does the same with his back. As much as the gesture implies for him to keep going, she struggles to breathe and can only think of when Galinda will be back.

Thinking about her does help. Kissing Fiyero does not at all feel as good it had with her, but the thoughts make it at least manageable. Just as long as he doesn’t start doing even more.

He does not start doing more. Something else, however, does happen.

And somehow, that something is even worse.

“Hi Elphie!” Galinda walks in, all cheery and very unsuspecting. “I hope you didn’t miss me too m—” She then processes what is happening in their room.

Now, this should not have been a problem. Fiyero and Elphaba’s relationship was nothing new to her. But seeing the two of them doing stuff like this together without her is entirely different, in her opinion.

She closes the door and stares at them with wide eyes.

“What… I—you,” she sputters, “Why are you here!?”

Elphaba slowly succeeds in untangling herself from Fiyero, who replies, “I’m your boyfriend. I’m allowed to be here.” That should be enough, if it wasn’t for the fact that Galinda does not understand how her own feelings work.

She is still convinced she likes Fiyero and Elphaba equally, just like her common sense has always told her. Why would she like a girl more than a prince? “I know! But not without me! You didn’t even tell me!” she almost yells, her voice slightly broken.

“Galinda, calm down. Surely you and Elphaba have done stuff like this without me?” Fiyero asks. All Elphaba can do at this point is stare. As much as she wants to side with Galinda and tell Fiyero he should never kiss her again, she knows he's correct.

“That is not the same.” She realizes she’s never seen Galinda this frustrated. Annoyed, sure. But never like this.

Fiyero then stands up, an attempt to make himself look more confident. It seems to work, as Galinda shrinks back a little. “How is that not the same?” he argues.

Galinda glares at him. “Because she’s mine. Not yours.” she clarifies, like it’s the most obvious thing.

Fiyero grows more confused than annoyed at that. “What are you talking about? Me and Elphaba are together just as much as the two of you are.” It’s true. And yet this answer does not satisfy her.

“I mean… yeah, but. No,” she retorts, her voice barely above a whisper. Slowly, realization dawns on her. As it is doing so, she tries to explain herself. “I—I don’t know. I just…”

Elphaba joins in now, too. “Fiyero? I do agree with you and it’s not that any of this is your fault,” she starts, “but I think it would be best if you could leave us.”

Fiyero nods in agreement. “Yeah, I think it is best I leave.”

He slowly gets up to let them have this talk. Elphaba feels a part of the tension in the room slowly fade with each step he takes away from them. But there is something far more important than that going on at the moment.

“Galinda,” Elphaba begins.

The girl’s eyes look a bit watery, Elphaba observes. It stays quiet at first, but then she hears a small, “I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine.” She gives her a smile. “Just tell me what happened?”

Now that Fiyero is gone, Galinda feels a bit more at ease. She carefully makes her way to Elphaba’s bed and buries herself in her arms. Elphaba is quick to pull her in. “I got a bit jealous…” She laughs quietly. Elphaba runs a hand through her hair. “I thought so.”

“I feel stupid. You had every right to be doing that and I—”

“It’s all fine.”

The room is silent for a minute then, until said silence is broken by a sob.

With Galinda’s head buried in her chest, Elphaba is unable to see well, but she does now notice how the girl is feeling.

“Galinda. My sweet. Look at me, please.” She does. “Hi. Can you tell me what happened?”

“I didn’t like seeing you with him when I wasn’t even made aware,” she confesses. A tear lands on a green shoulder.

“And was that the only time you’ve ever felt jealous?”

Galinda pouts. That face she makes when she’s just gotten caught but is fighting her way out of the consequences. It doesn’t really work this time.

“No,” she answers truthfully. “I don’t like when you pay attention to him,” she admits.

Elphaba lets out a laugh.

“Why are you laughing? It’s not funny, I just told you I don’t want to be with my own boyfriend. What kind of person doesn’t like their own boyfriend!?”

“No, Galinda, I’m sorry. I’m not laughing at you, it’s just… I feel pretty blind. That I haven’t noticed this.” All this receives is a tilt of her roommate’s head.

Elphaba sighs. “Maybe now is a good time to tell you I feel the same way?”

Galinda frowns. “And that means..?”

“I don’t want to be with him either.” Galinda seems to light up. “Wait? You promise?” Elphaba gives her a nod, along with a smile.

As happy as she is, Galinda is still confused too. “Wait, but then why did you even agree to this? I mean, I thought I liked Fiyero. I only realized I didn’t a few minutes ago. But you just—knew you didn’t and still accepted?” she rambles.

Elphaba shrugs. She knows that for Galinda, it doesn’t make sense that one would make such a ‘sacrifice’ in order to be with someone. “I guess I just wanted to get closer to you, even if it meant being with him too.”

A quick kiss is placed on her cheek. “Elphie, that is so romantical.” She holds her even closer and nuzzles her face in her shoulder, possibly trying to become one with her girlfriend. Surprisingly, this does not work.

“I don’t know, I could think of more romantical things.”

Galinda’s head shoots up again. “Ooh, enlighten me!” she says, but changes her mind. “Wait, no, don’t! You’ll just have to show me!”

And she really wants to, she does. But she knows that there are things with a little more priority at the time. “I think we both have someone to, I don’t know, break up with first?”

“Right. But then I get you for myself!”

Elphaba can only grin. “You do.”
