As if on cue, Anya happily flopped across Shane’s lap and settled there like she had always belonged there.
Ilya stared.
“Unbelievable.”
Shane beamed.
Across the couch, Ilya was sprawled sideways with Shane’s reading glasses perched on his nose.
That part had been a discovery.
Apparently Shane’s eyes were terrible.
“Your prescription is aggressive.” Ilya complained.
“You’re the one who stares at your phone in the dark.”
“Because my eyes are strong.”
“They clearly aren’t!”
“I refuse to believe this.”
Shane snorted softly and flipped a page in his book.
That had been another unexpected benefit.
“I can’t believe this.” he murmured.
Ilya glanced over.
“What.”
“I can read without glasses.”
“…You’re welcome.”
