NGC Recs Accidentally in Love
Stories where characters accidentally end up in a relationship (often without realizing it), either because of someone mistaking behavior as an intentional courtship, or by accidentally triggering a situation where they must follow through with it. They may or may not have already been in love. (But they won’t already be in a relationship.)
This may overlap with the fake dating or arranged marriages tropes. In general, those situations are a choice and this collection is more of an ‘oops, how did this happen’ situation.

Shen Qingqiu, his lovely cheeks stained red, carefully takes the mysterious flower from his hands. His eyes sparkle, and Liu Qingge’s breath is punched out of him. Liu Qingge doesn’t know what’s so special about it, but if flowers get that kind of reaction from him, then he would gladly uproot a whole meadow just to see that smile again.
“I accept.”
It’s a flower, and nothing more. But Shen Qingqiu looks at him like he’s brought the greatest gift of all.

Summary
Soap’s eyes strayed over towards Price again, suddenly remembering to ask Ghost to be partnered up for the next Op, “hey Ghost,” his voice had dipped low.
“What Johnny?” Their eyes met and Ghost had his mask half pulled down over his mouth so he could sip at his drink, an easy smile that stretched the scars around his mouth. God Soap thought he was hot.
It was nearly distracting, jumbling his mind as he asked plainly, “can we be together?” Ghost nearly choked on his drink coughing a bit before staring wide eyed back at Soap.
“What? Us being together?”
“Aye,” Soap looked at him a bit confused. “If you don't want to, that's fine, I won't make it a big deal if you don’t.”
“I’m just surprised you’re so casual about it,” Ghost put his glass down, shuffling a bit closer that made Soap smile wider, “but yes, if you’re sure?”
Ghost nearly sounded nervous, and Soap saw the slight red tint to his cheeks and ears and Soap grinned wider at the knowledge that Ghost got flustered about being partnered up for a mission, he laughed a bit tilting his head to the side and looking up at Ghost, “I’m always sure about you.”

Many have flocked to Liyue to try their hand at conquering Rex Lapis’ Path of Indomitable Jade, rumoured to be relentless in its challenge but bountiful in its reward. Unsurprisingly, Ajax’s one track mind honed in on the word challenge and ran all the way to Celestia with it.
No one told him it was a bygone tradition that vied for the emperor’s hand in marriage, not until much later, when Liyue was already decked to the nines in preparation for the coronation of the emperor’s beloved consort– an Ajax-shaped consort.
(In which a bored Childe thinks he’s scaling up mountains to fight adepti and gain bountiful gifts for his nation and all that jazz, but he actually ends up wooing one of them and fighting favour from the rest and-- uh, wait, what do you mean the eccentric rock enthusiast is the emperor--)
