Summary
There was a group of campers that the others all looked up to. They were the oldest, the most experienced, the bravest and fiercest. They were the ones who'd been through the most. They were the campers who were the first to rise to the defence of their home. They were the camp's leaders and they were its spirit. These were the campers who had stood blood soaked and battle weary on the streets of Manhattan, willing to fight to their deaths to protect what they held dear. When Percy Jackson handed Pandora's jar to Hestia, it was the spirits of these campers that kept the hearth burning with hope. These campers were the first line of defence against any threat to their camp, and, as their enemies always learned, they were the only defence really needed anymore. These campers were The Old Guard.
Or, the demigods of the original series deserve more respect, and while the seven are awesome and all, the OGs are the true unsung heroes of PJO. I had a headcannon and this happened.

A view of Thalia and Percy's development from friendship to a bond more like siblings, focusing mostly on Thalias return in SOM and a piece of their journey in TTC, with some snippets of afterwards.

Piper knows Drew is a horrible person, it's been obvious since she got to camp. She also knows everyone else agrees with her, and the only reason Drew didn't fight her over being head counselor is because she knew Piper would defeat her. Right?
After the giant war during the first head counsellor meeting, Percy wonders where Drew is. This leads to an explanation from the older counselors as to why Drew let Piper become head counselor and Piper and the newer campers begin to realise not only have they misjudged Drew, they don't really have any idea what the others went through in the first war.

To say Percy's life has been hectic of late would be an understatement so all he wants right now is a chance to relax, surely that's not too much to ask? And okay, maybe deciding to spend the week at camp wasn't the best idea when he just wanted some down time, but he'd missed camp. Surely he could still get a chance to relax at some point? Unfortunately for him, Nico and the Stoll's seem determined to throw a wrench in the works of this plan. Plus, all the younger campers think he's a god and no matter how many times he tells them he turned down immortality, they don't seem to believe him. He really hopes they don't start sacrificing food to him or Zeus is gonna be really mad.
Or, where Percy thinks he might finally get a chance to chill but Camp Half Blood is incapable of being anything but chaotic.

It's not a quest, but it wouldn't be them if they weren't racing across the country on a deadline, though this time, the deadline is the start of University.
It's okay though, because two of their oldest friends are along for the ride, and though that might mean they get into even more trouble together, they haven't failed to meet a deadline yet.

They had been raised learning that names had power, and this name felt too fragile to speak into existence, they feared that if they said it, it would crumble to dust like the monsters they fought before it could ever become real. Yet despite no one ever speaking the name, the idea was still there. They'd never spoken of it outright, yet it was a whisper around the camp fire, a murmur over dinner. It was a dream for the future, a sliver of hope that things could change for the better, that after all the wars they'd fought they could finally have some peace, could live a life of safety without having to emmigrate to New Rome. It was theirs, and though they weren't yet ready to say it aloud, their hearts burned with a firey determination to make it true, make it real.

Summary
The gods have declared war upon one another. Dionysus has been sent to camp half blood to inform the demigods of which side they will be fighting on for their parents. The only problem is, the campers have no interest in their parents' war and want them to go sort out their problems themselves. The gods get mad. Percy informs them it's very simple, either the gods go away or they won't be facing each other, they'll be facing their children. And the demigods are pretty confident in their abilities to defeat powerful enemies after three wars.
