Summary
Looking at the boxes stacked where the coffee table used to be in the middle of his rug, Charles feels cold, hollow, and numb.
Is this how Max felt when he’d hastily packed for Pierre’s house two days ago?
It was supposed to be the three of them; Max and Charles working on the lyrics; Charles and Pierre working on the music; and Pierre making it sound good in the production booth, with Max shooting random ideas into the breeze.
But now because of what he’d done, Max won’t be by their side. By his side.
He regrets not calling Max that morning, in the early light. Maybe he would have picked up. Maybe they could have fixed things. Maybe–

Summary
Max falls asleep in Charles’ nest after crashing out of the race with Oscar. Oscar wasn’t aware that dad and other-dad aren’t actually mated.
OR: Charles gets bullied by Lando and Pierre because Max is in his nest, and Charles decides to move post-race cuddles to Pierre’s because of it.

Summary
Fame isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be, Charles has learnt.
Fame isn’t about the art, or the fans, nor the music, or the muses. Fame, Charles has come to find out, it is about paperwork, and pressure. Pressure Charles is crumbling under after five successful studio albums, and five equally gigantic world tours.
At the end of this tour, Charles gathers the band for one last round of drinks. Alex, George, Lewis, Charles, and Pierre raise their glasses to the sky. They toast to a tour well done, and wish good luck to Charles in rediscovering his muses.

Max’s preferred method of writing is free writing. The act of writing, and writing, and writing, and writing is calming to him. If he can just keep the pen moving, the ideas flowing, at the end there might be something in there that he likes.
When the words stop coming, he will start doodling spirals down the width of the lined paper until the next set of words appear in his mind.
Then he keeps writing, and writing, and writing, and writing until he feels all dried up.

Lando doesn’t know how he or when he learned Oscar Jack Piastri’s name, but he’s pretty sure he’s supposed to be embarrassed about it. He does know to be embarrassed about finding out his friends’ names are Logan and Liam because he had coerced Carlos into giving him his phone, so that he could stalk Oscar’s Instagram from Carlos’ account during one of their study sessions.
He didn't get much homework done that day.

Summary
Charles’ eyes skate over the crowd once more. The glare of the lights makes it a little hard to make out individual faces, but he knows how to make his gaze pierce through. He knows he’ll be able to clock Max in an instant, if the Dutchman is even here.
Charles thinks it’s a little pathetic that he’s still searching for Max in every crowd he sings for. Performs for. Blares his soul too.
Maybe that’s why he doesn’t like stadiums, because he’d never know if Max had come, and sat in the back row at the stop of the grandstands.
