    A Crack in the Shell by

    Leo removed his belt and the strap that held his swords, and after some maneuvering, he was finally able to see his shell clearly enough.

    A thin crack about the length of his foot ran across the upper middle part of his shell, smaller cracks dotting the length, making it seem sort of like those weird-looking ladders on those metal telephone poles.

    Bad scrapes also dotted the surface, making one question bubble to the front of his slowly static filling mind.

    How did no one notice this?

    Or, I wrote this fic because there is no way Leo's shell isn't cracked by the end in some way. He was pummeled so much he had to at least have some shell damage.

    Or x2, Kind of 3 times Leo hid the crack in his shell from his family, and 1 time they found out.

    But even so, Mikey could argue that they didn’t know the full extent of Leo’s sheer hardheadedness, because they never had to get him to love someone. Someone like Draxum.

Mikey talks through most of it, twisting and bending whenever Leo asks, but his jovial attitude can’t hide the pattern of bruises blooming under his scales.

In other words, they didn’t, so the fact that it had been stopped meant someone else did. Something else. Several somethings, in fact.

    This was unacceptable, and Agent John Bishop intended to fix that.

    “Sir, Vehicle 254 just reported spotting one of the creatures traveling by rooftop along 5th Avenue.”

    “Do they still have eyes on it?”

    “No, they lost it by West 26th Street.”

    “Alert all other vehicles. If any of them catch sight of the creature, they are to report back to base, and an assault team will be released to their location. Were they able to identify which of the creatures it was?”

    “I believe they said it was the one in the blue gear, sir. The one with the swords.”

    Hehe, I watched the Rise movie and decided to write some Leo trauma. It's not as much trauma as I would have liked, and definitely not as much as I've read in some other fics, but I enjoy writing these stories so eh.

    Leo's shell is cracked! How is he going to deal with that along with all of the past trauma he has? He won't be alone in his journey to heal, that's for sure. His family is there to help, along with a few more things :]

    (This storyline has slowly diverged from the original concept I had in mind, but I'm not complaining, and I hope you won't either)

    Series was originally named "Cracks in the Facade" but I changed it because I can and I hated the name.

    “We don't know,” Raph said. It was the simplest and most truthful answer he could give.

    To protect his family -and the world- Leo makes the greatest sacrifice by trapping himself in the Prison Dimension with the Kraang. He doesn't expect to ever go home or to survive the Kraang's fury, but he tells himself that his family's safety is all that matters.

    Casey, however, doesn't agree.

    Opening another gate, Casey drags Leo out of the Prison Dimension and to the safety of New York. Or, the relative safety, as Leo's already been severely wounded by the Kraang and there's half a Technodrome falling from the sky.

    But Casey's already lost his sensei. He'll do whatever it takes to keep Leo alive.

    The fluffiness of the mane hitting his chin felt nice, and the soft texture of the light pink fabric rubbed against his skin nicely.

    He buried his face into the back of the head, letting out a singular chirp, drawing a chuckle from his purple-clad sibling.

    There was then the flash of a camera in his peripheral, and he shot his head up to see Donnie hiding their phone behind their back, a poker expression on their face.

    Leo glared at them with golden orbs as they retreated from the room, but did nothing to stop them.

    Can be read as a stand-alone, but there would be some context needed from the first part to fully understand what's going on in this one.

    During the fight with the Shredder, Donnie's tech doesn't hold up. He knows he's done for from the moment the Shredder tears through everything he throws at it, and it only gets worse when it wrecks his only means of escape.

    Donnie squeezes his eyes shut, and attempts to gets away from the claws coming down on him to no avail.
