Getting stuck in Kaedwen in winter had never been on Jaskier's plan. It's cold, they don't appreciate his music and nobody likes their national beverage anyway. The only redeeming thing Kaedwen has is Kaer Morhen, so Jaskier does what any reasonable bard would do in this situation: he decides to charm his way into Kaer Morhen to hibernate with Geralt and the other witchers. If nothing it will be an experience no human has ever had, fuel for songs and poems for years to come, while finally teaching him a thing or two about witchers he's just dying to know.
Curiosity tended to kill the cat, but Jasker had always seen himself as more of a bird anyway.

Ekko thinks she’s angry with him. Powder hears it in his pleading, in his crying, in his sleep from where he’s posted at her door. For his sake, she comes out, sits with him in the big room and stares at different cobwebs. But eventually all the space, all the empty space (because there’s no Vi and no Vander and no Claggor and no Mylo and no Vi and no Vi and no Vi—) makes her sick to her stomach and she sprints back inside the room, locking out her best friend in the world. Her last friend in the world.Vander is gone, Silco's taken Vi and Powder and Ekko are alone. We follow them as the foundations of this world settle into place.

"She's gone!" Powder's voice was sharp like a knife. Ekko felt like less than even a little man. Benzo was gone. Vander was gone. He couldn't lose the rest of his family too. So, he ran to Powder. He couldn't save the others, but maybe he could save her, if it wasn't too late.
She jumped to him, stuck to his shirt like one of her pink-bubble bullets. He held her and let his tears fall. Then, the door opened, breaking the moment. A glowing, furious eye in the dark found them with malicious intent.
"Pow. Pow, we need to run." So they ran. Two kids alone in the lanes, trying to find a place to call home.
