Middle-Aged Meet Cute AU – Frank plays a local festival gig and accidentally catches feelings.
The drive is quiet, but Frank’s mind is louder than a megaphone in a wind tunnel. Every thought arrives with sirens and flashing lights, each one chirping like malware pop-ups on a caffeine bender. He tries to focus on the road – cracked pavement, people picking their noses at traffic lights, Subaru Guy auditioning for Mad Max. But his mind keeps rerouting back to Gerard. Not in a hearts-and-flowers way, more like a ‘who even is this guy and why is he lodged in my frontal lobe’ kind of way.
