Summary

“We finally did it, Mads.” He smiled as he knelt, placing flowers on her grave. Before sitting against the tree that grew next to his grave. It was her favorite place to go when she was alive. “We finally found that peace and are finally safe.”
He had come back to her grave more often now. Almost every week at the same time with flowers. He would always sit with her and tell her about his week. About things that Beef did that made him keel over with laughter. About his found family and how he wished she were there with him to meet them.
He looked out over the city before him on that hill. “They look after me often now. Making sure I eat. Making sure I’m okay.” A smile was painted on his lips as he looked down at his hands.
“We plan to move into a house together. All of us. Though some of them, like Chad, say it’s to ‘keep my bitch ass from couch hopping.’” He chuckled at that. “I can’t remember what it was like to have that. To have this.” He felt his face flush slightly. “To be loved and cared for like this.”

After everything with Shroud, Robert decides to adopt the Z-Team. To a Mecha Man, this means forcing them to memorize contingency plans and codes in case of emergency. The Z-Team understands this is a sign of affection, but it's also really, really annoying. Especially when they actually have to use one of the plans.
Robbie Robertson hates everything about these weird heroes from the future. They're chaotic, loud, and have absolutely no sense of decorum. Even worse, the only person they'll listen to is his eight-year-old son.

Shroud was a bad man. He took what he wanted whenever he wanted and never thought about the repercussions—relying on his probabilities and calculations to ensure success. If it wasn’t a guarantee, then he would make it a 100%. He was relentless, cunning, and wicked smart.
But “Robbie” Robertson or Astral was worse. Or at least that’s what Robert told himself. Sure, Shroud made him kill when he didn’t want to. He had physically hurt him countless times; the scars that littered his body were a reminder every day of what it was like to get on his bad side. However, Robbie was verbally aggressive, neglectful, and a barely there father. He would reprimand him for the smallest of things, and when he was hurt, it was always the words “get up” uttered out of his mouth.

Or Robert is basically kidnapped and raised by Shroud to be a human machine. But when he fails to get the Pulse the second time, intercepted by the Z-team and is taught what it truly means to get on Shroud's bad side. Now he has to navigate a life with his emotions running rampant, all the while being entered into the Phoenix program with a bunch of ex-villains, in hopes that he may become a hero. -

I'm obsessed with the potential the story of Dispatch had. Don't get me wrong, I loved playing the game, I love interacting with the fandom, and I've had a lot of great discussions with people! However, I'm also able to recognize that there are flawed elements of the narrative aspect of the game. As someone who is studying creative writing in various forms of media, I thought it'd be fun to adapt Dispatch into a novel! Agreeing to a desk job at the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN), Robert manages a team of ex-villains (the Z Team) while navigating office politics, repairing his suit, and making decisions that impact the city and relationships.Series

“Get off my fucking dick, Bobert,” Chad bites out with far too little venom to be taken seriously. In fact, it only serves to widen that sly little smirk of Robert’s into a knowing smile, all sharp teeth and hungry eyes, his cool breath ghosting along Chad’s exposed collarbones - when had Robert gotten so close?
Chad feels blood rush to his face and, uh, other areas as Robert leans across his lap. He reaches out for the glass in his hand.
Looking away from the frankly pornographic look Robert’s giving him, he tracks his slow movements as Robert unflinchingly plucks the now steaming, simmering glass of what had been ice water moments ago from his grip. He places it behind himself on the side table next to his own before turning back to face Chad.
“Are you sure about that?” Robert teases, eyes flicking down the expanse of Chad’s now heaving chest. He tilts his chin up before bringing his eyes back to Chad’s, leveling him with a challenging gaze, “Seems to me like that’s exactly where you’d like to get me.”
