They were in Dick’s room instead of the Cave because Dick insisted on ‘bonding time’. He’d been a bit smothering since the whole kidnapping incident, but Tim was no worse for wear.
“Who’s that? A friend from school?”
“No? The kids at Gotham Academy suck, by the way.”
“Then who? I can’t believe you’re making friends without telling me, baby bird.” Dick shot him a mournful look that was clearly fake.
“You’ve met him! Hood? Rescued me from an auction? Fed me? Very warm?”
Dick paled a bit. “You - you want to hang out with Hood? The crime lord with a kill count as high as Bruce’s bank account?”
Or Tim tries to get his family to realize that his Jason is their Jason. It doesn't work very well.

The sullen mood, the closed-off body language, the vague grunts and one-word responses to Tim’s few attempts at conversation… they all point to a singular conclusion.
