It’s been months since Ellie and Joel returned to Jackson to recover and live. All seems well until a girl, Sue Mariam, gains an unhealthy attachment to Joel. Her delusions, both about Joel caring for her and the kind of person he is, create uncomfortable situations for Joel and Ellie. Will she be stopped before she becomes dangerous? Or is the threat of social awkwardness worse than anything our heroes have faced thus far?
A dramatic lampooning of some of the original character/reader fics I’ve seen proliferating the fandom. This is not meant to insult anyone who likes to read or write those kinds of fics, or bash any individual OC or Y/N character or work. Somewhere along the way, his girl’s gotten to believing that she’s a superhero. He doesn’t disagree, not necessarily, but he still sees the parts of her that are less man of steel and more little girl that grew up lonely and leans in to praise like a plant growing towards the sun. He sees it. Tommy and Maria see it. And evidently, Marshall fucking Green saw it.
Or, everyone has blind spots. Someone tries to exploit one of Ellie’s and its handled accordingly.

He doesn’t remember it hurting like this, but then again back then he hadn’t thought she’d meant it. The conviction here, and the reason, do a good job at persuading.

Eddie doesn’t really know how this is what ended up becoming of Steve Harrington’s coveted house parties, but he isn’t mad that it has. Before, he was only ‘invited’ (in the loosest meaning of the word), to the elusive parties as a plug, selling weed, coke, and a few different pills, ignored unless needed for a score. Eddie had actually never really minded, affectionate towards the idea of being a wallflower, excited at the thought of making money, and eager to overhear any interesting morsel of gossip. Not that he ever spread it, not past his friends of course, but knowing it made Eddie feel omnipotent, which honestly really helped his creativity in D&D. It was how Eddie had learnt how damn observant he was.
Or
Eddie is damn observant, especially when it comes to Steve Harrington.

It’s less of a kiss, and more of a slide of lips, wet with blood and tears but he feels Harrington’s grip tighten on the back of his shirt and he pulls back. He reaches up with the hand he can still feel and pushes back a strand of hair that had fallen in Steve’s face, smearing blood along his temple as he does.
