Robert loved his father, he really did. But the only thing which could make the destruction of the Mech and his entire legacy worse, Robert decided, would be if his dad was here to see it. He might be temporarily retired as a superhero, drowning in thousands of dollars of credit card debt, fighting through chronic pain, unable to take revenge for his father’s killer, and working as the barely respected leader of a group of superpowered assholes… but at least he didn’t have to deal with that.
Or, Robert “Robbie” Robertson II gets transported to the future to witness his son at two steps above rock-bottom. Nobody takes it well.
Except Shroud. Shroud is having a fucking field day.

Z-Team may be ex-criminals, but everyone can agree a pedophile is a waste of a cell room and is much better off rotting six feet under.

Summary
A random villain-of-the-week makes Robert late for work. It's only by a few minutes, yet the encounter that hardly lasted a few seconds instills a sudden chill in Robert's bones. Its persistence is matched only by the Z-Team's stubbornness as they force their dispatcher to join them in activities they think will warm him up.
But none of it matters if Robert can't learn to believe he'll ever be warm again... or that he deserves the warmth this team brings him.

Summary
Robert Robertson was a weird name, considering he had never fit the role in the first place, becoming the next Mecha-Man was never a thing he wanted. Something that he wouldn’t and would never become, it’s the one thing that his other dad had wished for anyway. Maybe Robert was too fixated on his parent’s approval, but if he had to pick one of the paths he would’ve definitely chosen the one where he was a Connor’s, guessed Robert Connors fit him much better anyway.

a universe where Elliot Connors was a lot more involved in Robert's upbringing, changing both Robbie's and Elliot's futures for the better, and basically a papa Elliot fic.

Summary
Robert Robertson is the most infuriating man Flambae has ever met. Even more so since he revealed that he is, in fact, Mechaman.
However, somewhere between beating Shroud and returning to work, Flambae gradually begins to realize that maybe there was more to Robert than just the blind hatred he'd held onto for so long.
Between not-dates and vet visits, Flambae's feelings slowly begin to shift, from irritation to something that feels a lot like heart-palpatations.

After everything with Shroud, Robert decides to adopt the Z-Team. To a Mecha Man, this means forcing them to memorize contingency plans and codes in case of emergency. The Z-Team understands this is a sign of affection, but it's also really, really annoying. Especially when they actually have to use one of the plans.
Robbie Robertson hates everything about these weird heroes from the future. They're chaotic, loud, and have absolutely no sense of decorum. Even worse, the only person they'll listen to is his eight-year-old son.
