Summary
Sometimes Error claims he's doing the Multiverse a favor and "maintaining balance" by destroying AUs. Ink knows better and that Error's "reasons" are absolute nonsense. It isn't the supposed God of Destruction that truly destroys AUs. Not even close. Ink does not really blame Error for his mistake though. Error does not remember any of the times he "helps" destroy an AU.
Ink is the Protector of the Multiverse. No one else understands what that actually means. Ink can't tell them. He tried to endless times but it never sticks. Only Ink knows and remembers.

Summary
He tries to play it cool. Pretend that he’s not here because he misses Kevin. That showing up to your boss’s home to watch movies with his husband is a perfectly normal, well-adjusted thing to do.
The door opens and Jake holds up his copy of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, a semi-forced smile on his face as he uses his free hand to point at the cover. “I got mandolins, son!” is what he says as a greeting, and he kind of regrets it immediately, but it’s out there in the open, now. Like some sort of unconventional invitation.

The wild one stood, wiping away blood from his face. His braid was a mess, blood dripping down to his hood, exposed collarbone, and hair covered in beaten flowers. He dashed to her, shoving himself into her face.
“Then you can wait your turn,” he mouthed animatedly, his teeth soaked in viscous maroon liquid.
The Queen’s expression soured at his honesty, and even worse, his appearance.
“You want me to wait on him to protect my kingdom?”
The hero shook his head.
“I want you to protect your own kingdom.”

Again, it was almost a comfort. Shadow still rolled his eyes, “You’d be surprised.”
Sonic got his breathing a little more under control, “I remember that I’m fast. Kinda my whole deal, I’m pretty sure.”
“You just can’t remember all the times I’ve beaten you,” in and out, Shadow continued breathing, if only for Sonic's sake.
“And I’m sure I never will,” the hero joked. And for what it’s worth, for a split second, his smile seemed genuine. Shadow would never know how he did it.
