Max blankly blinked at her once, twice. "What?"
Chloe uncrossed her arms and it was then when Max noticed what was in her hand. A pastel blue envelope, THE pastel blue envelope. "I think it's cool that you feel the safest when I'm holding your hand and honestly, it's the cutest shit. But Rachel and I just broke up, you know that. It'd be hella weird if..." Chloe's voice started fading out of Max's head as she tried to thoroughly scan the envelope with Chloe's name written on it.
Please don't be the 7th grade letter. Please don't be the 7th grade letter. Max kept chanting nervously in her head.
There was a Sailor Moon sticker on the envelope... from the set she owned in 7th grade. Something in Max's stomach turned upside down. Out of the three letters, fate really chose to give Chloe the cheesiest and easiest letter to misinterpret first.

Summary
After the sudden death of his father, Ekko—now Duke Ekko of Thornewood—came back to London in time for the marriage season. He wasn’t particularly inclined to get married but knew his duties well enough to consider avoiding the matter entirely.
He imagined himself courting a girl of good upbringing, proposing to her, then marrying her before the end of the season. Little did he know that crossing paths with Lady Jinx Ashbourne would make things a lot more interesting.

He hated her. Jinx. The demon that had possessed the body of his former best friend. Powder was gone, but Jinx was here to stay. He had held back his punches and avoided her in their fights for so long, too long, holding onto the last shred of hope that Powder was still in there.
