Summary
“Come on Stols, let’s go home. I need a fucking shower.”
“Home.” Stolas repeats and there is something dark there, under that one word. Something that makes Blitzø pause. He takes a closer look at his bird and notices the ruffled feathers and the narrowed eyes. And then he sees his own phone sitting dead and still next to the bony elbow and he knows exactly what happened. He usually doesn’t like leaving Stolas alone with his phone because the owl will try to call Via over and over and over again until the battery runs out and then they are all left with… this. “What home?”
‘Ours’ sits on the top of Blitzø’s tongue but he knows better than to voice it.
So he says “The apartment” instead and watches as Stolas grows even more tense.

Blitzø has made it a habit to bring Stolas a human souvenir everytime he goes out on a job. This time it's something called a jigsaw puzzle. Stolas seems to know what that is and while the concept sounds boring and tedious to Blitzø, he keeps finding himself at that table with his bird, trying to put the pieces back together.
In more ways than one.

Only a lot more disbelieving.
It doesn't bother him too much. He can see why it's hard to believe when all he does is stumble through life and drop things and trip over his own two feet and find bees willing to attack him everywhere he goes and…well, the list goes on.
Point is, he wasn't always that way.

“Why did he do it then?” she screams. “Why did he sacrifice everything for you?”
“I don’t fucking know, okay?” Blitzø screams back but while she’d raised her voice in anger, he sounds just desperate. Almost scared. “I have no fucking clue why he would do something this stupid for me! I don’t deserve this and I don’t know why he would… I can’t…”
He covers his face with a hand that trembles and Via bites her lip. She feels drained all of a sudden.
“Because he loves you, you asshole.” There is no heat in her voice. No anger. She is all out of anger again. It was nice while it lasted.
Blitzø stills and takes a shuddering breath. He whispers, low enough that she almost doesn’t hear the words and doesn’t know if she was supposed to hear them in the first place: “It terrifies me sometimes… The way your father loves with everything he has.”

Summary
When Via opens her eyes she has to blink several times to clear the spots out of her vision. She can make out the distant shapes of her father and his boyfriend, both of them furiously rubbing their eyes.
Loona is nowhere to be seen.
‘Did I do it?’ she thinks with a giddy sense of relief.
But then something small stumbles into her legs. She looks down and a hellhound pup with big, red eyes stares up at her.
Staring at the child, it takes Via way too long to realize what just happened even though the signs are all there. The familiar grayish fur, the spiked dog collar hanging loose around a thin neck, the band t-shirt almost falling off narrow shoulders and looking like a nightgown the way it flows past knees, the empty pants pooled around small ankles.
It takes way too long.
“Oh shit.”

A magical mishap turns Loona into a child for 24 hours. Not only does this give the hellhound the chance to experience a childhood she never had, it also allows Via to see a side of Blitzø she’s never noticed before and maybe even bring her and her own father closer again.

Summary
She pushes an old shirt to the side and softly hoots in surprise at what she has found.
An old film camera.
Via blinks in astonishment and carefully lifts it out of the box. The heavy weight is expected but it still manages to surprise her somehow. This is a really old model, vintage even! Via has never seen one like this in person, only ever in magazines or in old movies.
For a moment her heart drops because at a closer glance the camera looks broken. It's dirty and banged up and there are some weird markings all over the body. In some places the plastic looks almost like it has… melted?
She turns it in her hands and runs a finger over the lid of the film compartment. What looked like ordinary scratches are actually letters, deliberately carved into the surface, faded and barely legible.

Sam’s body was reacting before he could, curling in on itself. Hands flying up to cover his ears, to muffle the loud-rough-angry–angry at him–voices. He knew it was the wrong thing to do. Everything was wrong. He jolted with a pained sound when a hand, Dad’s hand, grasped his shoulder to turn him onto his back, but Sam wouldn’t open his eyes or let go of his ears because it was wrong wrong scary wrong.
(Sam is autistic and experiences sensory overload as a child. Dean learns from his mistakes.)

“Maomao?” He presses, fingers closing over hers and lowering their joined hands to her lap, and she blinks in surprise at the use of her name. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
“Their technique is sloppy,” she answers honestly. “I feel strain on my heart. They should have targeted the nervous system instead.”
Master Jinshi stares at her like she’s spoken a foreign language he can’t even begin to try and understand. She tries to explain.
“Certain snake venoms cause coagulation of the blood, which could have been effective and made the blood unable to move through my veins, but if the end result is simply making my heart stop beating by targeting the muscles involv-”
“Maomao,” Master Jinshi says, very calmly, “I need you to stop speaking now.”
(an assassin tries to kill jinshi with a poisoned blade that gets maomao instead) (she is obviously much less concerned about this than everyone else)

“He’s not a doll, Dean,” Mom would remind. Not that Dean needed to be told. Sammy was better than any toy, he was a brother.
Most of the time, when Sammy started crying, Dean got there before Mom did, cooing and rocking his baby. Mom always smiled, and reminded Dean that she was Mom and he was Brother. Brother’s don’t take care of babies, Mom’s do.
