Summary

Lando’s eyes snap open. "You did not invite your friend who uncontrollably turns into a giant to our fucking WG."
"I didn’t." he answers immediately, and Lando slumps into the chair from sheer relief. "He’s aware that in his… current conditions he shouldn’t travel. He’s not stupid, Lando, just desperate. But I told him about you."
"Me." Lando says flatly.
"Yes, about your research. And he would like to talk to you. See if you can help him figure out what’s going on with him."
"Me." Lando repeats again. "No. Why. Why?"

Lando's a folklore geneticist fresh out of his PhD. He bums around his shared flat in Berlin, goes on mental health walks, gets stoned regularly, and tries to convince funding bodies (and himself) that his research is worth supporting.
Oscar is a rising star in the world of motorsports who accidentally discovers himself to be the carrier of a previously unknown, but seemingly very dangerous Gene, which could easily end his career and potentially a few lives.

Metropolis has its first superhero, the Daily Planet has front-row seats, and Lando Norris has a brand new partner fresh from Smallville, the polite, focused, infuriatingly calm Oscar Piastri. Between chasing headlines, dodging LexCorp trouble, and maybe getting rescued once or twice, Lando can’t shake the feeling that his new colleague is hiding something.

He’s tall, is the first thought that flashes through Lando’s brain when he lays eyes on Oscar Piastri. It shouldn’t be a surprise, most men are taller than Lando, but all the same he finds his eyes catching on the width of Oscar’s shoulders, the couple inches that separate them.

But after he met his new Beta teammate, Oscar Piastri, and his weird way of making any Omegas he interacted with an independent and confident person. Lando might need to revisit all their interactions to understand him a little bit more.

Lando thinks Oscar is a Beta who is amazing with all the Omegas he meets and treats them fairly. So he falls in love with him but decides they don't have a chance because society would never allow a Beta to be with an Omega.
Oscar, a Pure Alpha, thinks he's not good enough for his crush, Lando Norris. But he still tries to make the world a little bit better so Lando can be happy in it, even if they are not together.

Maybe Oscar didn't say anything because he was self-conscious about it or he just wanted to let it be a surprise nevertheless, Lando enjoyed it. The only other shifter he knew was Daniel, and his honey badger self was cute, don't get him wrong, but quite a bit more ferocious than the purring ball of fluff currently kneading the air.
He sat down on the sofa and turned on the TV. "You got a show you could recommend? I've just been rewatching Brooklyn 99 for the past month"

Perhaps Commissioner Gordon was right, he is a catnip for people who dress up in ridiculous costumes and beat up the bad guys for a living.
