In which Cor is a menace to the Lucis legal system, and following the laws of the land (and some loopholes) nets everyone a happy ending. Couldn't have asked for better, WILL read again. Even if you're not into 'taurs, if you're into FFXV and that doesn't squick you, it's a must-read. I would have played this game in a heartbeat. Super satisfying.

Absolutely great get-together fic for one of my oldest fave-FF7 pairings! Super well done, relationship dynamics are great (including the platonic ones from their friendships), got some delightful humor and is just a great read. There's a short NSFW section in chapter four, but it's got an obvious lead-in, just a heads up.

This is such a delicious mix of slice-of-life and worldbuilding, laying out Reeve's backstory in this smooth, beautifully detailed view and also covering the origin of Cait Sith. It's brilliant, well written, and a must-read for anyone even vaguely interested in Reeve.

Extremely well written Tseng/Reno slowburn that is arguably more intimate than if it included smut. Perfect pacing, well-rounded OCs, beautifully written characters with spot-on voices from canon. There's worldbuilding effortlessly woven in that sucks you into the story so damn fast and keeps you hooked until the very last word. Read it twice already, would absolutely read again.

This is a tremendously well-written, thought provoking fic that's also just a really good read. The relationship between Vincent and Cloud - before they ever pair up, in the very end - is fascinating to watch unfold and there's a lot of world building/theorizing that's great too. 10/10 would reread another time, already read it about a half dozen.

This is a fantastic "what if" that explores the reformation of ShinRa (and the inherent badass that is even the unenhanced Cloud Strife) beautifully. One of my favorite parts is that it covers changing the world almost entirely without the force/violence/combat you see in most fics, by the nature of FF7 itself. This gets into the grit and detail of the machine that is ShinRa, and really examines it on the level of the people in it. Great read.

This series begins during the early days of the Wutain war and ends post-FFVII and beyond. The relationships are a sort of Katamari Damacy game, evolving from Zack/Aeris to Zack/Aeris + Zack/Cloud, to Aeris/Zack/Cloud, with an endgame that shoots for Sephiroth/Zack/Aeris/Cloud and...makes it (Perfect Ending), can see it from here (Good Ending - AZC + SZC), or misses (Bad Ending - no spoilers).

There's just not enough words for this series and my feels. I read this the first time when I was just getting into the FF7 fandom, I think, back on the writer's original site and again many times more on their DW. I can't suggest it enough. So much worldbuilding, so many fantastic OCs and emotions and character dynamics and just... give it a read. You'll be glad you did.

I really do love canon divergence fics, and watching Cloud come into his own is always a favorite. No spoilers for those looking at the rec, but it's a really well-written fic definitely worth a read. Great characterizations, well laid out, good pacing. Excellent work from esama as per usual.

Alright, very new to the Avengers-love that I now can't get enough of, but I feel a profound need to rec this, because it is a piece of literary art and the only "bad" part is that it's over. By which I mean, there's no sequel, because finding finished longfic of this quality is epic and I have no regrets.
There's a lot of POV switching and a lot of psychological and science stuff, and it's all done up beautifully. I'm really, really impressed and will likely read this again at some point. There is an enormous amount of emotion here, raw and ugly and beautiful even then for its purity. It was a pleasure to read this piece, so if you see this rec and don't have time now, bookmark it and make time later. It's well worth it.

Just wanted to read some Veld things, and this... I can't explain quite why this is perfect, but it is and while it wasn't what I'd been thinking of when I started looking for Veld things, I'm glad I read it. On the one hand, I'd love to see it expanded - on the other, it's still great this way.
The concept of "Veld" and "family time" is awesome, after all. And Vincent's cameo... 'nuff said.
