"If they're well behaved," Mydei interrupts, propping his elbow up on the bar, mirroring his pose, chin propped on his hand, "Are you?"
Phainon is, he thinks, eyes tracing the arch of his brow, the curved bridge of his strong nose and plush, pink lips. He could be so well behaved.
After a messy breakup, Phainon seeks out a change of pace. He might not be one of Mydei's regulars, but he wouldn't mind being something a little more.

Or: Mydei has deadlines, Phainon has zero self-control, and the desk barely survives the consequences.

Looking back, Phainon wondered what had been running through his mind when he insisted he could handle the situation on his own. Sure, he could have dealt with the Titankin with ease (after all, he had been the one guarding Okhema long before Mydei had ever set foot in the city), but fighting alone felt foreign to him now. He’d been fighting alongside his comrades for much longer; his brain was wired to move in tandem with their moves, not by himself.
The Titankin weren’t even in a large group to merit a huge cause for concern either. Waiting for Mydei was the better option, but nope! He had charged straight into the battle without a care in the world. If he hadn’t been there to pull him out of his predicament…he would’ve been….he would’ve…

Mydei expressionlessly marches over to the window and yanks the curtains closed.
In which Mydei finds himself in the strange situation of "trying to earn money as a housekeeper to support your idol, only to end up cleaning your idol's house, and to top it all off, your idol is secretly gloomy, depressed, and has the self-preservation skills of a walnut."

When Khaslana had decided to desert the Antimatter Legion and take the young twin Stellaron bearers with him, he had mostly done it out of defiance. This isn’t his first act of rebellion against his “benefactors,” but it certainly is his most egregious one, and he doubts that he’ll be so easily forgiven if and when they manage to drag him back into their fold, as they always have done.
He only hopes he can give Caelus and Stelle a life far, far away from Destruction before that time comes.
Because over the course of their time on the run, he has grown to cherish these two innocent children, who greet a monster like him with the purest of adoration.

In an alternate universe where Amphoreus was always real, the Antimatter Legion invaded and destroyed it, and Khaslana was turned into a Lord Ravager against his will. When he's given the task to nurture Stelle and Caelus, children who bear Stellarons in them, he flees with them instead, taking them under his wing and trying to raise them to the best of his ability.
