Misha had seen hundreds of pictures depicting himself as an angel. Some of them were fantastic, and others required a great deal of imagination to be able to distinguish exactly what the picture was supposed to depict. But this was one of the former. A set of glowing wings was rising from his back. Every feather was clear and distinct, snowy white with a soft golden sheen. Yet the wings were transparent enough that the background could still be seen through them. “That’s incredible!” Misha exclaimed, admiring. “How did he do it?”

Summary
Dean’s finally come to the conclusion that his life will benefit from him getting rid of the old to make room for the new. He starts by donating a bunch of things to charity, only to see one of the blankets he’s donated wrapped around someone sleeping in the street a couple of days later. He can’t know that, when he approaches the cocoon lying on the sidewalk that first time, but giving away his old blanket has started a sequence of events that will bring into his life all the new he could hope for, starting with the man sleeping under it.
Castiel's lost everything. He’s homeless, living in the street and determined to keep going until he won’t be able to go on any longer. And then, he’ll see. For now, he finds solace in the little things, desperate for any scrap of hope that might come his way. Like the blanket he got from the shelter, with the ugliest dog face that ever existed, complete with flapping ears, that has made him smile for the first time in weeks. He couldn't have possibly known, when he chose that particular blanket out of those available, that that choice had started a sequence of events that will bring into his life all the hope he was looking for, starting with the man who sewed and donated it.

Summary
In Spokane, Washington, Dean and Castiel finish a case with a powerful witch. Ready to go back home, they start driving back to the bunker, only to find that a big purple shield is blocking their way, not letting them leave.
Forced to remain in that town, Dean and Castiel go to a cabin, where they will have to stay until the two of them find a way to break the spell with the help of Sam and Eileen, who are in the bunker, unable to reach them.
In normal circumstances, Dean wouldn’t mind being stuck in such a lovely place with his best friend, but he is secretely in love with Cas and there is only one bed, so things aren’t going to be that easy for Dean.

But even though he's gotten better since Purgatory, Cas still isn't quite the same as he was before fixing Sam's head, and being trapped in a cabin with him for weeks on end is making that all the more obvious to Dean. When Sam takes off on a hunt, Dean has to figure out on his own how to navigate his new relationship with Cas while also helping to raise a bunch of fuzzballs that aren't even cute. Not even a little bit. (Well, maybe a little bit.)

Summary

Turns out splitting up is the most difficult task.
While Castiel is cold and cruel, Dean refuses to back down from a fight. The two are at odds more often than not, but their relationship only grows more complicated the longer they travel together. They may have more in common than they thought.

“Dean,” said Cas flatly, “I’m a twenty year old gay man. I’m always horny.”
He’d been trying to make a joke, but Dean didn’t laugh. Instead, he lifted one leg and pushed on Cas’s thigh with his socked foot.
“I’m horny,” he said with a conspiratorial smirk.
“So?” chuckled Cas. “Join the club.”
“Well, let’s do somethin’ about it,” replied Dean in a matter-of-fact tone.
Cas wasn’t sure he’d heard right. He looked over at his friend and saw that the guy’s eyes were resting on him heavily. Dean’s foot shoved at him again. “C’mon, Cas,” he said shamelessly, “you like dick. I have a dick. Whaddaya say?”
“I say,” answered Cas, turning back to the television and praying for strength, “that you’re drunk.”
“M’not that drunk.”
“You’re drunk enough to hit on a dude,” chuckled Cas.
