"Wonderful," Ink's voice is full of awe, "Amazing. How do you live like that? How are you alive?"
"I don't think I am anymore."
They shake their head, though you know you're not wrong, "I know that, silly! I meant it as a compliment!" Ink's hand goes into the air for a split second as they wave it around, and you whine at the loss of contact. Their mistake is quickly rectified. "Oops! My bad, forgot about the whole," their fingers trace your shoulder blades, "temperature thing. How much longer will you have to worry about that?"
"A lot longer, hopefully."

Summary
Not all things fall the same way.
One doesn't have to be a scientist to know it. All that's needed is the smallest bit of common sense and two working eyes. A rock falls hard, with a dull sound that startles those who don't expect it. A paper falls slowly, with a pleasant swish and an interesting, unpredictable trajectory.When Dream falls, he doesn't get to hear what sound he makes. He only hears a knock at the door, and then the world goes black.

Tommy doesn't actually hate villains for what they've done to him. He doesn't find it productive to waste his energy on what is a societal issue that he can't change. Besides, with powers like his, heroes and villains pose the same level of threat - and it's not like he could defend against either of them if he wanted to.
He turns to face Wilbur. “You don’t actually want to be friends with me. You said it yourself; I’m a dick.”
“It’s kind of endearing,” Wilbur confesses, “And I do. Want to.”
“I’m haunted,” Tommy warns, though slightly regrets it when those brown eyes lean closer and sparkle with curiosity.
“Really?”
“Tremendously.”
"How so?"

What are you talking about? 116 East Normal Street is the most normal place on earth! Techno just moved there, but the peace and quiet makes for the perfect opportunity to procrastinate on his college homework. In between babysitting eldritch gods and dodging magical girl battles, that is. Actually, one of the stranger things about the neighborhood is how determined they are to add Techno to the community. Strangest of all? It’s working.
