Rook let the silence overtake them, knowing that their task felt so surreal that any explanation simply wasn’t sufficient to express the gravity of what she had already seen. The gods she had been raised to venerate, a prayer to Elgar’nan for favor in raising crops, his countenance the life-giving sun, or a plea to Ghilan’nain, the Mother of halla, to guide their clan safely through the forests and mountains; her beliefs crushed by the horrifying truth of their tyrannical destruction, the obsessive desire for power at any cost. Could she truly expect shemlen to understand they were against the will of her gods? And could she admit that her stumbling had freed them…?

"You don’t deserve this.”
Solas just looks at Rook silently. There are no words, and he has never been uncomfortable with silence.
“You are tied to the veil. To the Fade.”
He keeps looking at her. It’s easy to have patience if you have eternity to fill.
“But you don’t have to stay wherever this is.”
Solas relents. “Technicially that is true. The Veil did not fall when the Evanuris escaped the Fade. Their lives were tied to the Veil. So as long as I live, the Veil should remain intact.”
“What about the Lighthouse? Is there some way?” Rook’s voice trails off.
“I have considered it. I have little else to do here. If there is a way to escape, I have yet to find it.” He gives her a small, sad smile. “It means a lot to know, however, that you have given it some thought.”
“So your only connection out of here is through me.”
“So it would seem.” There is a new speculative tone and a sudden intensity to Solas. He leans in closer to Rook. He's close enough to kiss. “Why do you care, Rook?”
Rook can’t breathe. She has never noticed how purple Solas’s eyes are. She feels too warm. There isn’t enough air and she no longer has any doubt about the effect he has on her.Series

Diablo 2 if Baal's +8 modifiers to cunning and wisdom post imprisonment gave him the insight into seeing how bad a fucking plan the Prime Evils had going on. And how really annoying it is that Marius went running off with his stupid soulstone like Diablo didn't spend AGES walking next to this guy traveling to Lut Gholein.
Like they literally didn't even get CLOSE. The only one who made any realistic impact on Sanctuary was Baal and he did it SINGLE-HANDEDLY. BRING BACK MY BOY HE'S CLEARLY THE ONLY ONE WITH A TRACK RECORD OF KICKING SANCTUARY'S ASS.
This is a different but similar story to 'All According to Plan' i guess.
