That was too much for most to understand. “I still don’t know who you are or who Isha even is- let alone how to save her… Why are you telling me all of this?”

Someone steps out of Tony’s way. Michelle glares at him—how novel. “No,” she replies.
“Then you’ve filed a missing persons report?”
“Yes, but the police haven’t found anything.”
“Sad. Well, maybe if you give them a bit more time.”
“You and I both know the NYPD isn’t exactly known for being reliable.”
Tony laughs. “So what were you wanting to do next to find him? Is he chipped? Maybe if you offer a cash reward—”
“I’m thinking of involving someone with a little better surveillance of the city than the cops. But since they can be kind of hard to get a hold of, I knew I needed to be a little more forward than usual.”
Tony doesn’t know the last time he was interrupted.
“A superhero, then?”
Michelle speaks through gritted teeth: “That’s not what I said.”

“No,” Ekko replied, determined eyes scanning the small area before shaking his head. “The witch must have escaped further in. Let’s go.”
The two men - the two hunters - walked further along the trail and left her hidden in the bushes, broken heart racing.
Ekko had…betrayed her.
