Chihiro nods, but doesn't say more. The cabin falls quiet except for the fire's soft, low roar and the crack of overheated pitch. Slowly, the condensation on the window forms droplets that run down, one after the other, and gather along the sill. The grey outside darkens into true night.

Kaede’s blood chills. Words leave her, and her heart falls silent.
Monokuma blinks. “Huh?” He along with the Monokubs, Kaede, and her classmates, all turn to the voice.
“Sh-Shuichi...?!” whispers Kaede. “What are you—"
“It was me,” Shuichi says again, shifting on the spot. “I did it. I uh... I killed Rantaro...”
The library is silent for a few moments.
Then all hell breaks loose.
Shuichi claims the First Blood Perk in Kaede's place, and in doing so, changes the entire course of the Killing Game. Different choices are made, new dynamics form, and, as per the rules, only two survivors can emerge from the world stained red with reality, and pink with delusion.

It may seem obvious, especially when the entire philosophy of the Dark Worlds is based on absolute devotion to the Light World and its inhabitants, but Ralsei loves them. He truly loves them in a selfish way, with desires unworthy of an inert object like himself, a fantasy born of desires from an illuminated world.
Perhaps that is why Ralsei, for the first time, does not understand. He does not understand Kris's muffled cry or Susie's broken expression.
