“Yeah,” Eddie involuntarily agrees. “She also said my life would be irreparably different and that I’d been through a huge fucking trauma.”
“Don’t think she used—”
“And what the fuck am I supposed to do, Mike? Go to some shitty support group for divorced men, or disabled men or- or what? Men who’ve been victimized by a weird fucking space clown? Cause I don’t think those exist.”
“No one is suggesting that, I’m actually suggesting—”
“I know what you’re suggesting, Mike. And it’s a huge fucking decision.”
Mike clears his throat. “It is.” He pauses. “And I gotta say, Eddie, I think the fact that you’re fighting me so hard on it is because you think it might be the right one.”

Or; Eddie buys a farm, comes out, makes a lot of stupid mistakes, and learns what it's like to finally have a life of his own, but definitely not in that order.

Richie's therapist had told him when he kept joking at one of their first meetings, “It’s just you and me here. There’s not always an audience to perform for," and at the time he’d laughed it off, of course, rolled his eyes, What a groundbreaking observation, a comedian seeking validation, but sometimes when he’s alone it creeps up on him: Are you performing right now? Who are you performing for? Are you performing right now?
“I go to therapy now,” he blurts out.
Eddie looks up from his phone, clearly surprised.
“Oh.” He nods, blurry in the corner of Richie's eye. “Me too.”
“Dope,” Richie says, popping the p hard. The conversation halts.
