It was called here by the sound of rustling feathers, of bird-like laughter.

Downy fluff covers his skin, feathers of red-yellow-blue on his wings, no flight feathers yet but it is only a matter of a few years.
It is doing as it always does, Watches its Person from the remnants of the Void between buildings, flying through the branches of the trees and launching itself away when one of its Person's friends flick their ears and become to focused on where its sitting.

Summary
Legundo moved closer to the edge of his small ship, trying to spot the source of the terrifying music. Overnight, his ship had drifted into a rocky area, the gaps between the boulders just wide enough to guarantee a safe passage even for a sailor that was asleep. The sun rays blocked his view slightly, forcing him to squint with his good eye to properly make out anything in the rocks. Eventually, he caught a glimpse of stunning cyan hair.
It was a man, but he was clearly not human. Gills sprouted from the sides of his head and sparkling blue scales littered his pale skin. A tail spouted from where his legs were supposed to be, cascading into the water and swishing slightly. Legundo found himself craning his neck to get a better look at the creature. The siren.

OR:
Legundo is on the run after deserting the army and meets a siren that he decides to give a chance while escaping his sins. Meanwhile, Scott isn't happy his new lovely soldier is a pathetic human, so he'll have to fix that.

“There was no point. What could you do that I can't do myself?” Marmalade points out. “Plus, you have your own stuff going on. I've seen the way you lean against walls when you think no one is looking, and the way your hands have been shaking.”
Something in Avid stings at the accusation, but he pushes it away in favor of forcing himself to focus. “I still want to know. Even if we can't figure out why, at least I would be aware that I should be looking out for you. I can keep health potions on hand in case you can't get to the ground safely, and I know that I should check in if you spend too long alone,” he insists.
Or: No single food provides all the essential nutrients a human body needs for long-term health and survival. This fact, of course, has no implications about doakbars whatsoever.

Summary
The first time Mumbo sees Grian's wings, it's at the start of Season 6 and they've just come out of the portal. His feathers are pearlescent with bright blue at the edges, flecks of purple hidden within them that he can only see when he's close.
(He brings this up one time at Sahara, and Grian merely gives him a thoughtful look before shrugging and returning to building.)
The first time Mumbo sees Grian in Season 7, his wings are a completely different color. It wouldn't be so strange, he supposes, if Scar saw the same thing as he did. But he doesn't.

"Run! Now!" Legundo barked at the victim, a straggly man who has fallen on the ground after the attack. When the man startled but didn't run, Legundo's army mode kicked in. "Are you deaf? Run, now, or else you're going to die!" That seemed to finally kick the man into action and he ran.
"Shouldn't you be more concerned for your own life?" The perpetrator questioned, a smile leaking into his voice. He stepped back just as Legundo made an attempt to reach for his knife.
"I have more of a chance to win against you instead of that poor soul." Legundo glared.
"I never pegged you to be the fighting type. Thought you were just a doctor, hm?"
The stranger.
It was the stranger from the corner store, the one that watched him every morning without fail.
His eyes were a crimson red.OR:
