This other him is so openly eager, so wanting. So quick to accept pleasure as if there’ll never be enough of it, like he’s a dried-up plant with rotted roots and Edwin’s the rain pouring over him. Charles can’t begin to pretend it’s not like looking at himself in a mirror. Can’t pretend he’s not wondering if Edwin’s making mental notes to learn which bits of this he’d like just as much as his alternate. Can’t pretend he’s not hoping Edwin is. The boy huffs a little laugh, leaning against the doorframe in a way that makes Niko suddenly understand the appeal of public hook-ups. She has to clench her fists at her sides to avoid dropping to her knees right then and there. “You sure ‘bout that, love?”
“Yep! Totally sure!” Niko says, grabbing the door with more force than is strictly necessary. “In fact, I'm, like, super busy right now,” she lies as she begins to shut the door, “so you really should get going.”
“Wait! Hold on just a tick,” Charles exclaims as he swiftly stops the closing of the door with his elbow. “So you're telling me you didn't accidentally dose yourself with sex pollen from Dr. Night's love potion lab?”
The girl blinks owlishly back at him in response. “No. Because that would be very, very bad.” Belatedly, she adds, “Right?”

Or: Edwin is really invested in the girls' education so he and Charles go to their parent-teacher conference disguised as their parents. Surely this won't awaken any unresolved feelings regarding their actual parents, right?

Just like it was part of the game for Edwin to groan and say, “Oh God, please, Charles, please don’t,” as they approached a set of traffic lights that were just about to turn amber.
