Summary
It's eight years after the war and Hermione Granger has taken a break from her career at the Ministry of Magic to compile an oral history of the conflict. She's interviewed just about everyone she can get her hands on but she wants to be thorough. And that means getting in contact with a very unwilling Lucius Malfoy.

"For your information, I'm not shopping it around yet because I still don’t have access to all of the sources I need.”
“You’ve got to be joking. You must have interviewed every living person that was even tangentially connected to the war.”
“Not everyone,” Hermione said, turning in her seat to reach up for the mug of tea she’d left on the kitchen counter.
“Who’s left? The trolley lady from the Hogwarts Express?”
“Your father.”
Malfoy opened his mouth and then closed it again with a click of his teeth, shaking his head. “You don’t want to do that, Granger.”

Summary
When Quirrell abruptly quits his post as professor of Muggle Studies, teaching apprentice Hermione Granger volunteers to replace him. Unhappy with some of Dumbledore’s recent appointments, the board of governors volunteers Lucius Malfoy to assess Hermione’s teaching for a term in order to determine if she’s the right fit for the job. Neither of them is happy about it.
Or: a very petty pair make the students of Hogwarts look like mature adults. No Voldemort AU.

An interpretation of Aethelwold's perspective and internal arc throughout the seasons. Rambling, ranty, angry, weird. Rated E for language.

It's strange, I think, how it seems nostalgic thinking about it now. As if it’s already a part of The Past.

Season Five Spoilers
Aelfwynn’s grief for her mother disguises itself as curiosity about her father. Through conversations with Aldhelm and Eadith at Bebbanburg, both needs are met.
OR:
Aldrikflaed goes canon.“He said he knew my true father.”
Aldhelm silences his anxious protestations at this. Aelfwynn’s eyes are boring into his, wide and bright and gray-blue like the sea beyond the cliffs.
“Tell me the truth of it,” she commands, but she is smiling pleadingly, her cheeks stretched high on her face. “I keep thinking…of my mother, and —” she makes a sound somewhere between a laugh and a dry sob. “Am I the fruit of violence, Aldhelm?”
