Summary
This isn’t how it's supposed to be - Sam was always going to be an Alpha. Like Dad, like Dean. Not that he'd ever looked down on those that weren't but he’d just-
He’d always known. Or thought he’d known.
Especially after Gabriel presented as Omegan. Gabriel who he had spent a lifetime being in love with, who had only confessed last year that he'd been in love with Sam too, everything falling into place like puzzle pieces between them.
But one of the pieces was broken now, the puzzle unfinished, and Sam didn't know if they could still fit together the same way they had before.
-- AKA Sam always assumed he'd be an Alpha. So when it turns out he's actually an Omega, he assumes his equally Omegan boyfriend won't want to stay with him anymore. Meanwhile, Gabriel just wants Sam for being Sam.

Summary
“I don’t know why I put up with you!” Sam bites out. The squelch of his shoes, water squishing in between his toes with every step, only adds to his rising irritation.
Behind him the culprit, a dry Gabriel, mocks cheerfully, “Must be out of love.”
Sam stops at that, and Gabriel stumbles into him before he catches himself and pulls back.

Summary
“Forget the car, I’ll be your baby.”
Across the room, Sam must have dropped something; there's a sharp, clattering noise followed by a painfully long beat of silence.
Slowly, agonizingly slowly, Dean's eyebrows furrow before he lets out a chuckle, "Come on, Cas, we've talked about this. We can't just rely on you poofin' us everywhere. Asides, you know what that does to my insides."
--- AKA Gabriel convinces Cas to use pick up lines on Dean, but Dean's too much of an idiot to realize he's being hit on.

Summary
"You're not him."
The Gabriel who is not Gabriel smirks, mouth both seductive and playful, so similar to the truth, as it leans in towards him. The eyes, though, are all wrong - they're dark and hungry in all the wrong ways, in all the ways that'll never be Gabriel, his Gabriel.
Breath shuttering, Sam leans away, unable to pry his gaze from him- it.

Summary
“Do you feel that?” The heat was against his palm then too, a steady rise and fall beneath, the calm in the eye of the storm. “That is real, Gabriel, I am real.”
Hot breath brushed stirred against his hair, more words spoken that Gabriel only half heard, the rise and fall never stuttering under his hand.
Gabriel latched onto them with all the desperation of a drowning man, could feel the moment the waters began to recede-

Summary
There were few things that truly, genuinely horrified Gabriel, and this? This sent icy shivers down his spine in a way not even Asmodeus had managed to, “What have you done?”

Summary
“I’m fine, Dean, I am.” Sam forced himself to hold his eyes, a ghost of a reassuring smile flickering across his mouth, “I’m just tired.”

Sam didn’t remember what it felt like not to be, but that part didn’t matter.
--- Aka : Three times Sam Winchester said he was fine, and the one time he admitted he wasn't. -

Summary
Sometimes, Sam wonders what he did to deserve mornings like these.
“Way to put the 'ass' in casserole, Deano." Tone dry, Gabriel rocks back on his heels, hands submerged in the side pockets of his frilly, pink apron.
"At least I'm not a pain in the ass!" Dean hisses back, because Dean, apparently, has the mindset of an eight year old.

“Aren’t you scared of me?”
“No.” The man glanced at him warily but the corner of his lips twitched up, “If you try to eat me, I’ll just chop off your head.”
It surprised a bark of laughter out of Gabriel, “You do know the stories then.”
“Stories are often only that. Stories.”
--- Aka Gabriel had seen humans in the woods before, but there was something... odd about the man in the red cloak.

Two months later, the wound is still raw, and Sam can't bring himself to spend the holidays with his brother's family. In an effort to escape everything for a little while, he finds himself in the park, where he meets Gabriel; a man with the poorest taste in hats and the most beautiful, matching tawny eyes Sam has ever seen.

Summary
But it’s not until he reaches up to touch his fingertips to Sam’s forehead that he knows for certain.
Sam flinches back hard enough he knocks into the door frame behind him, his voice a strangled plea, so quiet it’s little more than the shaping of lips, “Don’t. Please.”
“I…” Swallowing, he squeezes his eyes shut. When they open again, they meet Gabriel’s fleetingly before fixating somewhere to the side of him, “I need it to be real.”
