But his heart still pounds when Wesker stops by his desk and reminds him, in that shockingly smooth voice of his, that his reports are overdue.
Chris meets Wesker, who is the best—and then the worst—thing to ever happen to him.

“Captain Wesker!” One of the R.P.D officers who's name Albert could never care to really commit to memory, came rushing into his office looking breathless and alarmed. “You're needed in the jail cells. It's Redfield sir.”
The young frazzled officer looked absolutely shaken as Albert rose from his seat to investigate what exactly happened to his pointman. “Does he need medical attention?”
If Chris was in the jail cells, and something serious happened, it was most likely accompanied by an injury. Why nobody thought to call his phone for this was beyond him, but he relented when the officer stammered.
“Y-yeah. I think so. There's blood and he's- he's just not acting right.”

A routine patrol goes sideways for Chris, forcing Albert Wesker to have to re-evaluate his pointman's status. What he discovers is an unexpected interference from someone else in Umbrella, and a pleasant surprise in Chris' reaction to his beloved Captain in particular.Bookmarked by Simshay

“Why so angry, Chris?” he practically purred, as he eased his hold on Chris’ throat. Warily Chris stared at him but didn’t immediately make a move, as if he was trying to figure out what game Wesker was playing with him. Even when he was standing on his feet again, Wesker’s palm on his chest the only thing keeping him in place, he stayed still.
Enjoying the confusion, the myriad of emotion he saw flickering in Chris’ eyes, everything from confusion to anger to hurt and… Wesker didn’t even try to hold back his smirk. Instead he stepped closer, angled his body until their chests were almost touching, and tilted his head so that their faces were only an inch apart.
“Did you miss me?” The words were practically only breathed out, barely audible, but the shift in Chris’ expression was instantaneous. The struggle within him was palpable, clear to anyone who was willing to pay any attention. It could go either way at this point, Wesker thought. Either Chris would wrench himself free and make an attempt to get his gun, or…

In all honesty, Chris wasn’t entirely sure how he’d ended up here. He and Jill had been looking for Wesker for years, with little to no success, so when they’d finally gotten a solid lead that had landed them not only in the same area with Wesker but in the same building, he’d already congratulated himself on the job well done.
Yet now he was a panting mess, bent over a massive wooden table with Wesker holding him down laughably easily. Both of his arms were twisted behind his back, and Wesker held them in place with one hand so that no matter how much Chris struggled against the hold he could barely move. Chris’ muscles bulged as he tried to wrench an arm free, but to no avail, and Wesker only gave him a push that sent him closer against the table.

She’s got no other choice but to stand there, watch these two utter assholes plot the demise of the entire earth.
“Yes,” Wesker says, something lighting in his eyes. He looks almost mad, with the way his lips stretch into a grin, an expression he would never get caught dead with if there really was an audience that mattered. “And then Chris will finally have to admit his defeat! He’ll finally see me as the god I am!“
