In a last ditch effort, he makes a clicking noise, mimicking the one George always does. He holds his breath for a moment, squeezing his eyes shut with wishful thinking.
Tears gather in his eyes when he gets nothing in response. Of course he didn't, it was dumb to even think he would. He opens his eyes to look at the ceiling, bottom lip quivering in sorrow. He's stupid, utterly stupid.
Or
George responds to Dreams attempt at communication. A hopeful coincidence? Or maybe something more. Dream can only really hope so.

Summary
Anxiety swirled in the bottom of his gut. This was going to bother him, he knew so. He hated it, the idea he was a nuisance to his friends. It terrified him. He came into the kitchen for food, not to be bombarded by the burning thoughts of "Your Annoying, a bother, repulsive".

Dream has certain impulses that George and Sapnap come to find are slightly annoying. Dream can sense the annoyance, and his social anxiety makes the realization 10x worse.
Take this as platonic or romantic, couldn't really care. Just adding the romantic tags just in case :)

Summary
The assault on George's cheeks never prevailing, as Dream continued to poke, and squish the plumb flesh. Needing it into his hands. The skin starting to gain a hue of red in it's wake, which wasn't from the blush, already high on George's ears, and bridge of his nose.

Dream loves George's soft, pretty skin. More specifically the softness of his gorgeous face. With a hint of soft, gooey, lovely mush of feelings. They're inlove your honor.

Summary
There was no excuse as to why he was shutting the world out. He knew there were people to talk to. But there was some invisible force keeping his mouth shut, as to not let the feelings he was experiencing be said to anyone but himself.
He could feel more sticky, salty tears slip down his face. He knew how ugly the scene probably was. Dream, standing in the middle of the living room, crying, as his friend hurts from the pain he caused.
Or
Dream struggles with his overwhelming feelings for his childhood best friend, George. This causes a fight to break between the two, in which Dream confesses his overbearing love for the other. George doesn't reciprocated these feelings.

Tommy knew parents weren't naturally supposed to fight, and hit each other all the time. He also knew people weren't supposed to beat the person they had promised to love, over stupid things, such as washing the dishes.
