“Have you seen Bruce recently?” Dick asks one night.
“Haven’t seen Bruce since the last time I saw you,” Jason responds. He can feel the weight of Tim’s eyes on him though, and it’s grating. “WHAT, Tim?”
“You saw him last night,” Tim responds after a moment, flicking his eyes towards Dick. “Literally last night, man.”
“Yeah,” Jason responds without thinking, because he hasn’t slept in 58 hours, “I saw Batman last night. I haven’t seen Bruce in a month.”
For a moment, there’s complete silence. And then, in an exasperated whisper, Dick says: “what the fuck, Jay?”
OR:
Jason picks up a little bit more from Bruce than he means to as Robin. It doesn’t go away, not even when he’s Hood.
OR:
Jason watches Bruce. Tim watches Jason. Dick watches Tim. They all need therapy.

I remember the way you acted so brave, even when you were terrified, and I remember looking at you with a tire iron still in your hands and a bruise under your eye and knowing I’d never rest until I knew you were safe.

Summary

Summary
The first memory Jason has is waking up on the operating table, his dose of anesthesia half what it should have been, and looking down his body at his cracked open chest.
He’s lucky to be alive, they tell him; he can’t remember his last name. Next came physical therapy, discharge, a temporary Wayne Fund apartment. His GED, his undergrad, and med school. A life.
Still, Jason has never managed to shake the memory of where he started: bright lights, the warm insides of his own body, and the iron-cauterized scent of blood. Yeah, Jason believes in heaven and Hell. Jason believes in punishment, and the afterlife.
OR
Amnesiatic Jason works in a hospital, trying to pick up the pieces of his forgotten life, and fights in an underground boxing ring to make ends meet. But Gotham's systems are corrupt, something is brewing in its underbelly, and Jason doesn’t know if he can trust the vigilantes stalking his city at night.

"Batman," Bruce's low and gravelly tone cuts in, and Jason braces against the wall in surprise for a moment, gloved hands scratching against the stone, "ETA 3 minutes."
Jason breathes in deeply, finally dislodging the gasp of air that had caught itself in his chest. He breaks out into a hurried and unbalanced sprint, ignoring the flaring pain that spreads across his entire body, hands trembling.
"Hey kid!" Jason calls out into the emptiness around him, throat strangely dry and hoarse, "I'm here to save you. Can you hear me?"
It's quiet. Jason's eyes are burning.
