Percy was weird, Vax knew that. But the man's sudden obsession with him stretching was...interesting, and Percy was being so curiously honest and talkative after all.
Scanlan had so kindly made Percy a cup of tea, and Vax was going to exploit the hell out of the result.

Well now, losing a game of poker to Vax was one thing, being the prize he wanted? That was something else entirely. In secret, Percy was not opposed to the idea. There were definitely worse ways to spend the night.
After Vax gave him the option to choose when and where, with the instruction to kiss him when he was ready, Percy kissed him immediately.
Vax could have him, Vax could play, but he was not about to roll over and show his belly. Oh no. Vax was playing with fire.
So he teased him, he outsmarted him, he outwitted him, and he flirted right back. He made Vax work.
Until finally, Vax caught him.

Typical. Vax swoons as he and Scanlan quietly appreciate the beautiful, sleeping man in front of them. There's just one teensie weensie little problem.

Lines get blurry when Vax learns more about the man he's in love with, and he wants to help him. He truly does, but he also wants him in more ways than one. He doesn't know if Percy could ever feel the same and the thought of mating with him without getting emotionally attached hurts him.
He blames his own desires for Percy's transformation, and Percy blames himself. Because Vax is incredibly easy to read, and as perceptive as he is, he's fucking blind.
