Summary
Mumbo stood on the roof of a skyscraper, looking out over the city. It was getting dark out, just before sunset. He probably should be heading back to headquarters soon, whatever happened after dark really wasn’t his problem right now, and he didn’t want to try and deal with it. The last time he went out on patrol after dark it… well, it didn’t go so great. He sighed and stepped out onto the ledge, ready to take off when a voice over his headset stopped him.
“Black Box, there’s been reports of an attempted robbery in your area. Details will be sent to your visor screen, please get there as soon as possible.”
“Copy, heading that way now.” Mumbo confirmed as the location popped up.

Summary
Athena scoops up a handful of sand, letting it slide through her fingers in a crude imitation of an hourglass. She’s been sitting on the beach — or what passes for a beach on craggy Ithaca — for the past hour, watching the waves crash against the rocks. The tide’s coming in. If she doesn’t move soon, the sea will catch her, will wash over her and drag her out into deeper, colder waters. She wouldn’t mind. She could just float for a while. Like a jellyfish, drifting and aimless, rocked to and fro by the waves. Remarkable animals, jellyfish. They have survived for eons without a brain.
It’s a comforting thought, and a terrifying one.

Summary
After the events of Infinite, Pearl and Grian are finally properly together, as they should be. Though there are some wounds that haven't quite healed and some scars left on their hearts, Pearl's quite happy with how things have turned out. They're alive, they're moving, and they haven't forgotten each other.
As Pearl continues her endless quest to make up some lost time with her brother, she reflects on the events that lead them here.

Summary
Nobody ever asked what happened when they died. It seemed so obvious. If you died, you respawned. It was as natural as breathing.
Grian was just like that once. He died, he respawned, and he thought nothing of it. Life was infinite.
Until one day, it wasn't. He saw how infinite lives could dwindled down to one, and then zero. He saw how time could warp into something entirely unrecognisable in a matter of days. He was forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about the world as he felt the final death coming closer by the second.
With the help of his magic, Grian survived. Barely. Did that make him lucky? Unlucky? He didn't know.
Three years later, Grian was recovering. He had a new life, a new home, new friends. He was finally happy.
And then it all started all over again.
And this time, he didn't have an escape.
Nothing ever lasts forever.
Not even infinity.
