Summary
Durin approaches from the outside of what must have been a rib cage. The bones are even larger up close, as wide as a tree trunk, enough to wrap his entire armspan around it. He steps around to the middle, staring out from the belly of the beast; could the heart of such a creature even fit inside this tiny form? Wide-eyed and shivering, he pulls off a glove and presses his palm to a bone, rough and worn-down from years of harsh weather. He’s never seen the framework beneath his own skin. Might it look something like this, about a thousand times smaller?
“Durin,” Albedo calls, and suddenly his arms are braced around Durin’s shoulders like he’s consoling him. Does he need consoling? He doesn’t think he’s crying, but his cheeks are too numb with cold to tell.

Summary
OR: The Witch Becomes Her Own Worst Enemy (in an Occupational Sense)
Due to contrived and largely arbitrary reasons, the Long Quiet has ended up outside of the construct, unable to save the world and slay the person he was sent to kill. But the construct requires someone to fill their role whenever possible in order to prevent it from failing entirely. So, the task of "slaying the Princess" falls on to the only other person available... which is the Princess herself.
This was a love story at one point. I'm not entirely sure that's still the case.

Summary
I’ve always felt the Fontaine battle theme “Lamentation et Triomphe” fits Furina’s situation regarding during her performance.
A battle theme that sounds like a performance with high stakes at hand, like your life—no, like your people’s lives depend on it.
Yet this piece feels like it never ends.
Everytime the music suddenly swells, it’s because she must uphold that grandeur. Everytime it feels like it should end, the tension returns, like the prophecy looming over the nation. Like what the performance costs her.
There’s brief respite, as though she’s playing with animals and gaining a semblance of peace. But it doesn’t stay that way.
It sounds like a grand performance but there’s an undercurrent of unease.
And I want to see how it’s done.—
Analyzing music from a character-driven narrative perspective, interpreting how Furina’s struggle against the prophecy is told through the piece’s different sections and lack of resolution.Series

It is no longer safe to be who you were, she tries to say, laughing as she trips him- toughen up Zuko- she sneers at his attempts at fire bending- watching as their father approaches the courtyard with the dread she can no longer afford- toughen up Zuko.
Zuko does not toughen up, and she leaves him behind.

So she’s like six when she has her ‘little incident’, as her parents have been referring to it. They panicked for about a month, didn’t let her out of the house, or out of their sight, and pestered her uncontrollably about ‘being more careful’ and ‘getting lost’ even though she’d tried to explain to them that she hadn’t gotten lost really- her goal had been to go exploring, and you couldn’t do that if you knew where you were the whole time.
They hadn’t really paid attention which is good, because in retrospect, they would not have handled the part about badgermoles very well.
Anyway, it was a wild experience, and it had helped water the little seed inside her- the earth bending plant inside her soul or whatever. Because Toph could sort of feel the earth now- command it a bit, even if only barely. And that was nice and all, but it hadn’t exactly been the awakening of massive power she had hoped at the time.
