“Are you gonna actually say something or are we gonna sit here and freeze to death in silence .’ Rivet bit out hotly, unable to take it any longer. The once comfortable silence had become suffocating, rapping around her neck like a rope. Her gaze was set back on the endless black of the sky. Behind her, Ratchet let out a soft sigh, the air escaping with a hiss.
“What was that in there Rivet?” he asked, voice a gentle hum against the silence. Rivet felt her face scrunch up tighter; her fangs dug into the cut that had slowly been growing on her gum.
Right. Of course he’d cut straight to the point. No beating awkward around the bush this time.

All around Jean, his teammates were grinning and elbowing each other, leaning forward to catch Jeremy’s words.
“I have just received word from a reliable herald” — Jeremy held up his phone, amidst scattered laughter — “that the Greeks have left Mycenae.”
The Trojans let out a murmur of mock-horror. One junior dealer clutched a bemused sophomore’s arm. The girl behind Jean’s chair pretended to faint. Something clicked in Jean’s memory, and the weird histrionics of his teammates finally fell into context. They were playing Atreus University tonight.
The Trojans muster their forces to play their long-time rivals, the Myrmidons. Hilarious shenanigans and uninhibited fun ensue.
