Standing in a patch of sun, dust motes around him, Astarion looked hallowed, the single point of light in the otherwise dank chamber. The noon sun turned his hair silver, a thousand thousand strands so fine they might make any spinner green with jealousy. He was angled away from her, so she could see only the point of his jaw, the way his neck disappeared beneath his lace collar. The fine goldwork on his jacket shone.
